The prettiest vintage French haute couture poured glass brooch by Louis Rousselet with emerald green glass set between French rondells and tinier green glass 'stones' coming out from the very center top. The brooch was designed in a organic swirl seashell or snails shell and has height to it.
I could not find the Made in France that is often times on his jewelry of this period, but he's is the only French manufacturer that used the clover metal design on the back, so I'm sure it's by him. The pin is tight and the French trombone clasp pushes in and holds fine.
The color is very striking and pretty but the metal on the rondells show some oxidation from time, so I have priced it far below the market value, where the last one like it with red glass sold for $350.00. It can be worn as it is or would likely greatly benefit from a professional cleaning.
French in origin, circa 1940s; please see the photos for approximate measurements and details.
