A very sweet, happy bebe by Simon and Halbig with a bisque shoulder plate head on an early leather body with stitched toes and bisque forearms and hands. Her bisque head is in great shape without any hairlines, chips or repairs, very nicely rendered with feathered brows, rosy chubby cheeks, coral painted lips with an open smile showing a set of teeth all present. She has spiral glass blue eyes that were set.
She retains her original soft blond wig and cork pate (the wig is a little sparse but looks ok under her fabulous wire brim light blue bonnet). The original antique hat has the matching dress with it, done from a polished cotton. It’s pretty fancy with a stiff tulle like long collar terminating in blue silk bows, tulle around the drop skirt and end of sleeves. Tiny white lace trimmed on the neck and down the back with hooks for closure. Pretty doubled lace around the top of the bonnet with old paper wax flowers. Under it she wears old silk pantaloons with white knit socks and leather shoes.
She has had a bath along with all of her clothing and wig. There some age related spots and a few small repairs to the outfit but she still displays wonderfully. She measures about 17” tall; 21” to include the hat. The leather was cut on the back and shows the number 7 20 DEP, there is a space between and 7 and 20 but I believe she is a 720 mold since she looks so much like the 719 mold. The body is in great shape except for where it was cut to see the numbers; it is without leakage. Her right hand’s thumb and ring finger are chipped, which are the only thing to note.
