Here is a cute and rare doll to find, especially in that her original clothing was never cut off her and she is still holding the fish tray. The doll is marked on the back with XX 8/0 for size, indicating that is was made by Fleischmann and Blodel. The doll has an adorable little girl face with big glass brown eyes, a cute open mouth with little teeth, dimpled chin and she still has on her original blond mohair wig under the original lace cap.
She is on a crude French 5-piece movable limb body, all intact. Her outfit would be indicative of the part of France that sold fish; it is unlikely that she ever had any shoes. All in all, very good condition for the age, without any hairlines, cracks or repairs. There is line mark by the size number that was done in manufacturing.
She measures about 12” high not including her bonnet, good condition with all fingers and toes, some chipping to the composition on the fish tray as seen and a little bit off her hands where she's holding the try. A tiny cheek rub and thinning of her curly wig, which does not show with her bonnet on. She has been hand wiped off with soap and water, her wig too, so she is clean and without any odor, although she never had any. She’s a great display piece with a very sweet face that is not often found in the all original costuming, especially with the tray that many times children cut off and disregarded.
