This cute backscratcher was probably made in the 1920s in the Greater Shanghai area. The hand is well carved, in excellent condition. The "stick" to which it is fixed also is good. This is a very nice item to gift someone seeking the unusual in 1920s Chinese Art (Art Deco of The East..)

A very rare and unusual snuff bottle made from still unknown substance, with its own custom made modern wooden stand. Dates from the late Qing Dynasty, circa 1850-1900. This is a large North China flat bean, dried and hollowed out. With seeds inside which crackle when shaken. I have never seen any other snuff bottle made of this leather-like substance. The bottle is very well hollowed out and has a a coral colored stopper. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks – fine old patina.

This is a water dropper, used by the scholar to dribble water on to an ink stone; it is shaped like a pumpkin and the calligraphy on the side refers to its pumpkin shape. The entire effect is very realistic The pumpkin stem looks correct and also covers the water in the vessel. But it also looks like a garlic clove.

We would not. This comes from a long un-touched collection of Yixing ware, a modest Cup of Light cache. No cracks, no fractures, no repairs. Base has dark spot from production, nothing new From inside one can see tea residue or many years. This pot has not been used for maybe 50 years.
