Tiliang Yixing Teapots are relatively rare. Many break in the transportation. This is a miniature one, new. circa 1995. It is very well made, has the maker's mark in the bottom. This is a Mid-Qing table screen. The wood throughout is zitan; there are no condition problems. No breaks,no nicks. The stone is called lu dou stone, from China's Yunnan Province (in the Southwest). The stone has a naturalistically formed animal in the center: it can be called a jilin (a mythical animal in China), a dog or a camel. The screen is in excellent condition. The frame at the bottom is carved with "swastika" style marks. The base begins with clouds carved exquisitically on it. It moves upward graced by ruyi on each side and end with a lotus bud at three sides. The wood is beautifully patinated. No nicks, cracks or marring.
