A Chinese mother of pearl box of canted rectangular shape and mounted with silver edgings. The cover is delicately and minutely engraved with a scene of figures at leisure in a pavilion surrounding a vacant shield. The sides bear panels of very finely worked flowers with geometric borders. The box is in excellent condition and superb quality craftsmanship. Age: early 19 C. size: 7.5cm x 6.3cm x 3cm high.

A Chinese buffalo horn box, the front and back panels carved deeply with writhing dragons and the sides with auspicious characters. The cover shows two confronting dragons.The quality of the carving and the condition of the box are excellent; there are a small hole in the centre of the base and one in the cover...

A Chinese celadon jade plaque carved on both sides with fish, flowers and aquatic motifs. The border has a series of convex circles. Nice, even colour of the stone. size: 3 inches x 2 3/10 inches. condition; very good, no breaks, no restoration.

A Chinese mirror, mounted on the back with a panel of green jade carved with shou characters and the handle with a similar green jade. This small mirror is encased in a gilt and enameled silver frame. Stamped " silver". Age: C. 1900. size: 13 cm long. condition: very good, no breaks, no restoration. provenance: from the collection of Michael Sherrard QC, OBE. ( 1928-2012)

A Chinese lady's belt made of 16 mother of pearl discs each mounted with alternate appliques of butterfly and auspicious Chinese characters. One of the two end gilt silver clasps which are decorated with enamel characters is stamped "90" followed by characters. The quality of the multicolor enamel work as seen in the butterflies, is superb. size: 70 cm long. age: C. 1900. condition: One butterfly is missing and one disc has part of the Chinese character missing.

An interesting Chinese agate of two conjoined snuff bottles. The stone is translucent greyish with a few darker hints, it is very well hollowed and in excellent condition. Age: 19 C. size: 2 inches (5cm) high

A Chinese silver fan, gold plated and decorated with multicolour enamelled panels against a filigree ground .The guards are cast with scenes of figures, all sharp and crisp. The back of the fan is not neglected either; it is embellished with the same decoration, thus making it a visual joy from both sides. This exceptional and fantastic fan weighs 173 grams of high grade ( 92% tested ) silver, covered by high gauge gold. age; C. 1900. size: 22.5cm length of the sticks...

A Chinese jade vase of spinach hue with darker splashes; it is carved on both sides of the body with flower head scrolls, the shoulders are decorated with elephant heads and mobile rings. The cover terminates with a knob carved in a fluted design. Beautifully carved and in excellent condition, this is a highly impressive and decorative object. size: 10 1/2 inches ( 26.5cm) high. age: late Qing/early Republic.

A Chinese silver bowl embossed with a continuous decoration of chrysanthemums around the body. It stands on a slightly splayed circular foot and the rim is reeded.Stamped with the maker's name YOK SANG as well as Chinese characters, it is an arresting and beautiful example of Export silver in very good condition with no repairs . size: 8 1/4inches (21 cm) diameter of the bowl x 5 3/4 inches (15 cm) high. age: C. 1890. good heavy gauge. weight; 580 grams .

A highly desirable Chinese jade coup, shaped as a lotus leaf with flower blossoms decorating the handle and body. The stone is of an even tone with a slight hint of russet. This is a very attractive composition of the "caged" style and measures 5 1/2inches ( 14 cm) wide. In excellent condition. Age: Ming 17 C.

A Chinese coral figure of a standing maiden in an elaborate and floating robe holding a basket of flowers. Rendered with great competence and detail, it is a very attractive composition. The coral is of pinkish hue with occasional white spots. age; C. 1910. size: 17.5 cm high including the fixed wood stand. condition; very good, no restoration, no breaks. there are natural tubules to the back.

A Chinese mirror mounted with an 19 century jade ruyi head plaque on the back and a belt hook as a handle.The former is finely carved with precious objects; the canopy, fish, vase of flowers, lotus and endless knot, the handle shows a dragon with lingzhi facing the chilong. The mount is gilt silver and stamped "silver", the stones are of translucent pale celadon grey of even hue. Age: the stone : 19C., the mount: early 20C. size: overall length: 7 1/2 inches ( 18cm)...

A fantastic Chinese silver caddy of hexagonal shape, applied with a profusion of enameled birds perched on foliage and flowers, all against a filigree ground . Studs of turquoise and coral further enhance the opulence of this extravaganza. Stamped SILVER on the base. Age: first quarter of 20 C. size: 6 9/10 inches (17.5 cm ) high. condition: Excellent, it appears untouched, unpolished and unused for a long time, thus remaining in pristine and undamaged state.

A Chinese box of grey celadon jade and rectangular shape with rounded corners. The body is very thinly carved , resembling the Mughal manner and the cover is delicately incised with a bird in a tree. Elegant in its simplicity and precision, it typifies the 18 C. lapidary art on small jade objects. Age: 18 C. size: 2 7/10 inches x 1 7/10 inches x 3/5 inch high when closed. ( 6.6 cm x 4.5 cm x 1.5cm high when closed.

A Chinese silver tankard, applied onlaid with a continuous decoration of a phoenix, birds of paradise and storks amongst flowering trees, chrysanthemums and prunus. It has a hammered background, a vacant shield and double-walled interior. The decoration is in high relief, creating a three dimensional sculptural surface and amazingly in an excellent condition. Height: 12.5 cm. weight: 339 gm (10.9 oz). Stamp of WANG HING 90 and Chinese characters. Age; 19 C...
