A Chinese celadon jade belt hook mounted as the handle of a mirror. The stone is of even hue and carved beautifully to depict a dragon's head confronting a chilong with lingzhi, the back with the conventional button. The round dome-shaped back of the mirror is of copper and embossed with a writhing dragon. The jade dates to the 19 C. and it was mounted later in the first quarter of the 20 C. size: mirror length; 9 inches (22 cm). belt hook length: 4 3/4 inches ( 11.5 cm). condition: the jade is excellent, the metal tarnished with age.
