A desirable Chinese green jade bowl, carved in the Mughal style; the exterior showing a key ring motif under the rim followed by a band of tight fluting and then a register of leaf design . The base bears a Qianlong mark but the bowl is made later. The stone is of an even spinach tone , close to the colour of the pictures. The body is very thin, at one mm ( 0.01 ) at the rim . This bowl is a worthy addition to a collection of a style of lapidary which creates thin bodies from hard stones. size: 14 cm diameter. condition: good, only a slight bruise to the rim which is visible in one of the images.Age: late Qing. Provenance: from the collection of Professor G.R. Coope of Scotland
