A Chinese silver goblet presented as a trophy at the Canton regatta 1890. It is embossed with bamboo leaves and standing on a tripod of sculls which are held together with silver rope. The shield is engraved, Canton Regatta April 1890 Double sculls one Mile Bow A.E. Dowler, Stroke S.P. Read and Cox H. Dent. Maker's stamp TS, denoting Tien Shing.As well as Chinese characters. Weight: 145 gms. height: 18.5 cm. It comes with its custom made wood stand. provenance: from the Dowler family.
condition: only the wooden stand has a defective foot , otherwise, the goblet is in very good condition.
