Titled "We are going to the shooting Range too", this Cultural Revolution poster depicts dressed kids dressed up as Liberation Army soldiers, and giving the PLA solute to adults who apparently are dressed as the "People's Army". During Cultural Revolution, the central government, based on Mao's direction, wanted all people, from youth to elderly to be like a People's Liberation Army soldier. Mao's plan was to convert all citizens to become soldiers, and thus the image was used as a propaganda to promote military exercise, down to the children level. Based on the attires depicted in this poster, it is a image portraying Northeastern Chinese. As evident also by the lower right corner, this poster was created by Sun Ji Yao, published by HeBei province publishing house, printed by ShijiaZhuang Printing Company, and distributed by HeBei XiHua Bookstore. 310,000 copies were printed. It was a first edition and first print, both were done in October 1975. Price at the time was 14 Chinese Cents. Size: 30" L by 21" W.
