Very, very rare. This bracelet is from circa 1880, yet it is amazing how current and modern it looks. Victorian 18K yellow gold bracelet with large carnelian medallion clasp. The flexible 18k gold link bracelet detaches from the clasp entirely-- there was probably another piece that went to this clasp at one time. Bracelet and clasp are securely linked together by a safety chain. Carnelian stone in the clasp measures 35mm high by 20mm wide. Width of link bracelet is approx 22mm wide (nearly 1 inch).
Total length of bracelet (with carnelian clasp) is 7 7/16 inches long. A competent jeweler can shorten this bracelet by removing links. Great condition, one link has slight nick on its side, not noticeable when worn (see photo), fully tested. Weight of just the clasp is 21.3 grams, weight of just the link bracelet is 41.9 grams, total weight of bracelet is 63.2 grams. Weight of the carnelian stone is estimated to be 7 grams, total weight of the gold in this bracelet is estimated to be 56.2 grams.
