The company sold the finished movements acquired from the Independent Watch Co. Those movements had been made by other companies. The Fredonia Watch Company was sold to the Peoria Watch Co. in 1885, after having produced approximately 20,000 watches.
This was introduced early in production and was intended for use as a Railroad Grade, No. 7058, 18 size, Hunting Model Full plate nickel, lever set, ADJUSTED, SUPERIOR SPECIAL/1st Line Escapement/15 Jewels/ Fredonia Watch Co. The dial is white porcelain with bold Arabic figures marked: FREDONIA N.Y. The fancy gold filled hunting case is decent, shuts tight and presents this movement well. This rare high grade model by Fredonia is clean running. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET OR BONDS. BUY HISTORIC AND COLLECTIBLE HARD ASSETS.
