Signed Japanese Meiji Bronze Hawk Okimono on Rockery base, highest quality sculpting with details to every feather . The hawk is holding down another bird and 2 of its feathers lay on the base stand of the sculpture. The hawk was sculpted separately from the rockery and it was completely hand worked and then applied to the main sculpture. One unique thing about this piece is that the hawk was cast as one piece when most all other hawk or eagle sculptures were cast with detachable wings for ease of casting . One flaw is the tip of one wing was masterfully reattached with virtually no seam line we assume it was done period due to the quality of the repair. Size w tip to tip 17.5" h base up 17.5" over all height is 22.75" weight is 39 pounds or so.
