This pair of French leather Club Chairs are quite unusual, They have kind of a Deco meets Streamline feel. They have fixed cushion that are quite firm, but still comfortable. They are circa 1940's.

This handsome pair of 1940's French Leather Club chairs were fully restored in the 1990's using supple and lovely cowhide. This style of rollback chairs have generous arms and a deep seat that accommodates all body types. Excellent overall condition, they measure Width-37", Depth-37", Height-34", Seat Depth-22", Seat width-18". Seat Height-15"

This is a very Handsome pair of all original French Club chairs form the late 40's, early 50's. They sit deep and comfortably. They have their original velvet cushions. The Gendarme back chairs get their name from the Shape of Napoleon and the French Gendarmes(Policemans hat) from the mid 19th century. This pair of club chairs that we call Bern Cinema Clair have an rather light tone which is unusual for a pair as old as this. Circa late 1930's, this pair was surely inspired by Jacques Emil Rhulmanns' famous Elephant Club chair. This styling kind of opened the floodgates to more dramatic expression with the form of most French leather Club chairs from that point on.
