Pair of cylindrical, footed, ribbed boxes with circular lids. The food container or game box is lacquered in black with 9 "mitsudome" mon pattern on four sides. The four feet are decorated with incised brass hard mounts and its lid and box are held together with original pale green silk cord tassels.

Original Antique Japanese gyosho bako (merchant's chest) made from kiri (paulownia) wood with a red lacquer finish. Its front features two doors on iron hinges, with iron fan shaped corner hardware and locks. Many drawers of varying size and handle styles sit within. The sides of the box have iron rings for a merchant to attach straps and carry. Original condition and glowing finish. Wonderful piece. Edo age (1615-1868) Size: 34" height, 11.75" width, 22" depth

Kurdish antique saddle bag most likely for use on a donkey, made in slit-tapestry technique in a variety of colors, woven in one long piece and the folded over on either side to make two storage pouches. The primary central motif is that of two eight armed stars, below this another half reserve with two half-stars and surrounding it all is a beautiful decorative guard band delineated by narrow fence motifs. Antique Japanese fu dog netsuke, with open mouth and front paw resting upon a hollow xi qui ball. Beautifully carved with attention to detail. A tiny ball has been carved to roll around loosely within its mouth. The bottom has been engraved with the artist's signature "Genryosai Minkoku". Lived and work in Edo, Japan. Antique Japanese cloisonné box with dark blue navy enamel background on its top and sides, with shimmering gold flakes. The lid has a beautiful scene of two birds flying over a running stream while a beautiful cluster of chrysanthemums arches over them. Antique Japanese painting of a Goju-no-to, five storied pagoda of the typical Japanese Buddhist temple. The pagoda is decorated using Kanji with a repeated sutra and other passages. Horin, the nine rings atop the pagoda are each a symbol. It measures 21.25" by 10.13". Some signs of age. Painted in sumi ink on paper. Meiji period 1868-1912.

Antique Tibetan hardwood cabinet, hand-painted with bright red, blue, yellow, and green lacquer pigment. Eight panels decorated the front with painted peonies and spiraling border design, a large panel underneath with geometric design. Very difficult to find. Antique Kilim runner of Turkish nomadic tribe origin. A series of 9 large bands, each with three large diamond shaped reserves inside which are crosses surrounded by protective hooked borders. Smaller protective diamond shapes and crosses fill in the space around each large motif. Bands of white with small crosses and diamond provide more protection. Hand woven of wool. Circa 1900. Japanese woodblock print by well-known contemporary artist Tetsuya Noda (b. 1940), a professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts. His techniques combine woodblocks with silk screening. This print is part of his famed "Diary" series, titled "Diary : Jan. 15th '84 (1984)" in pencil. with calligraphy on the lefthand side, no. 39/40, signature in pencil with red fingerprint.
