Nepalese stone carving of a four armed Lord Vishnu, standing atop a lotus pedestal, holding in his hands a conch shell, a discus, a lotus blossom, and a mace. From Newar, Kathmandu Valley.

Malla period 16th century

Chinese antique bronze incensor of immortal riding three legged toad, animated modeling of sage joyously riding on money toad with upraised arms and balancing on raised leg. Figure lifts off as cover to container which is the frog's body. Dark patinated bronze. Good condition.

Antique Indian carving of Vishnu and Lakshmi. Vishnu is identified by his tall crown and club. His wife, Lakshmi is seated on his left knee. Carved of a hard black/green stone. Beautifully worn smooth and with traces of vermillion from it's use as a votive sculpture. This piece is very powerful. Age: Possible 4th century Dimensions: 4 1/4" high x 2 1/4" wide x 1 1/4" deep

An antique Japanese Nihon Matsu Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware which includes the Warabite handles, the lock plates with auspicious symbols, and the pine and plum Atari handle back stops. Antique Chinese blanc de chine censer of a Qilin. Made of porcelain and glazed white, this Blanc de Chinese piece is from the Fujin Province of China. The Qilin sits on his haunches with his head turned over one shoulder. On the underside of the creature is an opening and two tube-like incense holders for joss (stick) incense. The smoke from the incense would have come up through the nose and open mouth of the Qilin.

Pair of Japanese Kutani Vases. There is a hole on the base of both of them, originally drilled for lamps. Signed on bottom. Otheriwise in great condition and good detail. Pictures of birds and flowers in red and black, with gilt. Elegant scale with elongated height. Meiji Period. Circa 1900. Height:18" Depth:5.5"

Chinese altar table, light honey colored finish, carved with scrolling dragons on apron, flanged top, legs have slight A-line, comes with glass for top, table is 19th century. Size: 37 1/2" high (40 3/4" high to top of flange) x 84" long x 15" deep.

Antique Chinese black dragon and phoenix priest's robe. Roundels embroidered with gold phoenix and dragon with clouds and waves. Silver and gold thread with red and green couching stitches. On the back of the robe there is a peach and jewels and the wheel of life on large back panel. Small overall wear and discoloration. 40" long x 62" sleeve to sleeve. Republic period. Circa 1900-1920s.

Charming Chinese antique painting of a brown and white Pekingese dog, very beautifully painted with attention paid to every strand of hair. The dog crouches with tail up as if ready to play. The scenery is grassy with rocks and cymbidium orchids. Painted in ink and mineral colors on paper. 19th century. Japanese antique couch, elaborately carved with coiling dragons, curving arms are carved in the form of two dragons, the seat is fitted with a cushion covered in silk brocade with a Chinese design, Meiji Period. Size: 41 1/4" high x 49" wide x 22" deep. (the seat is 42" wide x 16/17" deep.)

Chinese snuff bottle made of various stones, with a delicate inlaid design of a a rose. The bottle has a brilliant sheen and is very elegant. 19th century Size: 2.75" height, 1.75" across, 1" thick

Rare wide brimmed Tibetan hat, meant to be worn by reincarnated lamas of a high-rank, called Tulku, who have the power to choose their manner of rebirth. It is covered in a copper/gold lacquer over incised designs with coiled dragons, flowers, and various Buddhist symbols. The inner part has pierced characters and a raised design, and is topped with a bronze and quartz finial with auspicious designs. Inside of hat has an illegible signature. 17th century Size: 14.75" wide, 6" tall

Beautiful Japanese antique 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest) from the Nihonmatsu area of Japan, made with nice keyaki (elm) wood on drawer fronts, safe box in lower right hand corner opens to two small interior drawers, there is a key for the safe, lovely iron hardware includes large warabite shaped drawer pulls with separate small butterfly details, Meiji Period. Size: 45 3/4" x 43" wide x 17 3/4" deep.

Japanese wooden chest with a black lacquered body and iron handles on its front and back side, and red lacquered lid. The chest's top and sides are decorated with a gorgeous mother of pearl inlay in the shape of a kiri leaf, from the Tokugawa family. Beautiful pair of Chinese hardwood chairs with a dark reddish brown tone and smooth finish. It has an open back with a center support panel, carved with an auspicious Chinese design. The connected headrest and arms run along the top of the chair, with two curving vertical panels on either side. The legs of each chair are carved with squared spiral designs. Chinese set of four hardwood chairs, with open backrests, carved with crossed branches bearing peaches inlaid with light hardstone. They are simple in design, yet have a bold, attractive woodgrain. Size: 36.5" height, 16" width, 18" depth

Antique Japanese kiri (paulownia) choba tansu, or merchant's chest with a pair of sliding door panels and interior shelving.
