Antique Chinese low rectangular table made of carved lacquer in the tixi technique and decorated with guri "sword-pommel pattern". The lacquer is applied in multiple thin coats of alternating black and red then carved down to reveal the layers. The underside of the table is carved with a four character mark.

An antique Japanese Nihon Matsu Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware. The lock plates feature the lucky Sho Chiku Bai (Pine Bamboo Plum blossom) motif with two stylized Chrysanthemum knobs. The handles are in the Warabite style with handle stoppers that are butterflies above and plum blossoms below. The safe door below hides two small drawers for the storage of valuables.

An antique Chinese table made of Jumu (Southern Chinese Elm). The apron and spandrels have detailed scrolling work. Constructed using through mortise and tenon as well as dovetail joinery. Solid construction and beautiful patina.

Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) with hinged biraki doors. Made of keyaki (zelkova elm) wood with a deep red lacquer finish. The lower portion of the chest has two large exterior drawers. Extensive iron hardware includes cross bracing moko shaped drawer pulls, lock plates, and foliate corner brackets. Comes with 5 keys.

All original hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite style handles and the stylized Chrysanthemum arabesque lock plates. 6 drawers with a security door that hides 2 small drawers used to protect valuables. An antique Japanese long low Todana Tansu made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Visually stunning horizontal slats on the two sliding doors cover 6 drawers (3 on each side). Original hand forged iron Hikute handles on each drawer. Additional slats to each side. It would make a wonderful sideboard or base cabinet for a TV monitor.

Antique Japanese tansu with 9 drawers. Made of kiri (paulownia) wood with traces of black lacquer. The upper portion of the chest has three full-width drawers. An antique Japanese Tansu chest called a Gyosho Bako (peddler's chest) made of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware. Two pairs of rings on each side used to rope the Tansu to carry on ones back for peddling wares from town to town. The front hinged door secures 7 drawers used for inventory storage.

Beautiful antique Chinese sleeveless robe with bright green ribbon closure, made of light pink silk with a robin's egg blue silk interior lining. Both the front and back of the robe features gold thread circular designs with two young maidens relaxing, surrounded by flowers. The vest is outlined in light golden-beige panels with colorful birds, deer, and vegetation. Size: 36.5" tall, 28.75" wide

Antique Chinese pair of beautiful hardwood cabinets (jumu wood) with open display shelves that have carved side panels with dragons and flora. Its two swinging doors with dramatic woodgrain open with brass fittings and have a roomy, shelved interior within. The finish of the wood is deep red with brown-orange highlights. 19th century. Chinese antique wool Pau Tau rug with woven together in a whimsical pictorial composition of a flying crane, deer, and an exaggerated large peony. The Peony is shy and is hiding amongst the craggily rock formation, reminiscent of a Taihu stone. Admits the red sun and swirling clouds, the pine tree stands along, swaying towards the flying crane which is about to land as the prancing deer is on a field of flowers. The overall ground field is blue which graduates from pale blue to indigo.

Antique Chinese Pao Tao Peking rug, hand-woven in dark blue, grey, pink, red, green, and brown colors, with five medallions depicting auspicious scholar objects surrounding a large central image of a deer standing below a perching crane. This is a popular Buddhist image called the Six Harmonies because the word "deer" is a homophone for the number "six" in Chinese and represents earth below heaven. 19th century Size: 33" x 52 "

Neolithic era ceramic amphora, Yangshao Culture, Yellow River area, China. This baluster form vessel is made with a narrow neck and slightly flared rim. High shoulders taper downward to a narrow foot. Two strap handles are attached just below the center of the body. Painted with geometric patterns in red and black mineral pigments.

Antique Japanese ikebana basket. Wild and natural appearance with gnarled wisteria branches making up the frame of the basket including a tall arching handle. The small, neatly woven body of the basket is made of split bamboo and is nestled between the knotted wisteria branches.

A pair of antique Chinese architectural spandrels hand carved in high relief from Elm wood in a reticulated design using polychrome natural color pigments. An antique Japanese single section Kimono Tansu (chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hirute style handles. Front corner reinforcements on all drawer fronts with two side handles on each side for carrying this tansu from room to room. Constructed using thick straight dovetail joinery and hardened wood nails.

An antique Japanese Kyoto Mizuya Tansu in 2 sections made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. All original bronze hardware including the Warabite handles. Upper section features 4 sliding doors, a lift-out door, 2 sliding doors behind which is a removable shelf and 4 drawers.

The lower section features 2 sliding doors behind which jars of water were kept for cooking. Side support slats provide strength to the Tansu as well as architectural design.

An antique Japanese Gyosho Bako (street peddler's chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia). All original hand forged iron hardware. Hinged door opens to 5 inner drawers of varying sizes where special wares were stored. 4 upper rings were used in conjunction with rope to provide back pack support. Unusual back handle was used to assist in lifting the Tansu onto ones back.

The pair of snuff bottles have a hexagonal faceted shape with flattened foot. They are inlaid with iridescent shell floral motifs with dark brown lacquer wood.

Laque burgauté has Chinese origins with examples occurring as early as the Ming dynasty and was especially popular in the Qing dynasty when it was also used to cover unglazed porcelain.

An exquisite Japanese gold lacquer Inro of boat scene with five compartments. The inside compartments are covered with dense nashiji lacquer (fine gold flecks). This is an antique Japanese Ikebana bamboo basket that harkens to the shape of an ancient bronze vessel and it features an exaggerated loop handle. The upper half of the basket was created in an auspicious repeating pine needle weave which would represent longevity. The cross hatched weave bordering along the hip delineates the upper and lower halves with lower half incorporating double layered split bamboo in its weave.

Antique Indian bronze figure of Krishna. Standing in a relaxed pose with his flute in hand. He is bejeweled and wears a pleated dhoti. Long strands of hair fall to his shoulders. Behind his tall headdress is a sun disk. Krishna and his consort, Radha together represent the ideal relationship of love between god and soul. Beautiful original patina and hand rubbed finish.

Antique Japanese Seto ware chawan (tea bowl) with horses. A raised horse gallops on the outside of the cup near a fence. On the inside bottom of the cup is another running horse. Both have a celadon crackle glaze. The cup shape has an undulating surface and is glazed a rich, mottled brown with yellow flecks.
