An antique Japanese Kansai merchant display store tansu made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Constructed using through mortise and tenon Japanese joinery with horizontal side ribs for strength and support. Most likely used for the display of large tall items, a customized shelf could be added for an additional charge.

An antique Japanese Chobako (merchant storage box) made of Kusunoki (Camphor) and Kirinoki (Paulownia) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute handles. Beautifully constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. The hinged front door opens to five interior doors where merchant papers, records and small valuables were kept.

An antique Japanese 3 section kimono chest called Isho Biraki Tansu made entirely of Kiri (Paulwonia) wood. All original hardware and natural patina finish. An antique Japanese Isho Tansu (Kimono chest) in 2 sections made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original iron hardware with a natural patina acquired over many years. Upper section has 3 drawers and lower section has 2 drawers with a removable base at the bottom. Very thick wood used throughout this chest. Side handles to each section for ease of transport.

Antique Japanese surimono woodblock print by Hokkei (1780-1850) entitled "The Chomonju - Snake and Melons". A snake entwined with a tray of melons. The poem above speaks of how the snake will become a dragon which will make clouds of white cherry blossoms in the mountains. Snakes and dragons are closely associated with water. The poems alludes to a wish for rain and the blossoming of Spring.

Chinese clock made of brass with cloisonne, six cloisonne columns, on the front behind glass is the clock face and a small oval shaped painting of a country scene with a lake and mountains with trees in the foreground, on either side of the clock are painted grecian style figures, a small oval plaque on the back is stamped with "Made in People's Republic of China", size 12" high. Size: 11 1/2" high x 8 3/4" wide x 4 1/2" deep.

Charming Chinese antique pottery roof tile in the form of a nobleman on horseback, glazed in three colors, fitted with a hardwood stand, Ching Dynasty 19th century. Size with stand: 15 1/2" high x 10" long x 6" wide.

Carving of a Chinese scholar made from dark hardwood with lighter orange highlighted areas, his eyes closed as if in deep meditation. He sits with one leg curled underneath himself, his left arm rested upon a carved stool or small table, with the face of a beast. He holds a scroll in his hand and creates a Buddhist mudra gesture with the same hand.

Antique Japanese bronze Buddhist temple lantern. The finial is a flaming jewel and the corners of the roof are hung with bells. A dragon is coiled around the lower portion of the lantern stand. Many areas are decorated with colorful cloisonné clouds, flowers and cranes. Electrified.

Beautifully carved antique chinese stool, circa 1900. The stool is carved with chrysanthemum and plum blossoms. The feet are animal claw-like. Inset with rose marble. It measures 11" wide, 19" tall.

Antique Chinese jade miniature duck holding a lingzhi sprig in its beak as it turns to look down it's tail. The bird is beautifully carved with details of the feathers and head done with great naturalism, 19th century. It measures 2" long 1" wide 1.5" tall.
