Antique Japanese two section kimono tansu made with all natural finish Kiri (paulownia) hardwood. Adorned by handles and middle round metal lock incised with floral motifs. The upper section houses six long, shallow drawers for folded clothing, while the lower section holds three large drawers.

Antique Korean pair of bedside chests on stands, with natural burl front panels. Both chests have book-matched front doors, meaning each door mirrors the other, creating symmetry. Original finish wood.

Japanese 2 section kimono tansu. Made with Kiri (paulownia) wood, all natural finish. The upper section holds 8 drawers, which is considered an auspicious number. The bottom section contains 2 drawers with warabite pulls mounted on pierced metal plates. The piece also contains a secret hidden compartment beneath the bottom drawer.

Korean two-level hardwood kitchen cabinet, made with bold grain elm wood panels. The piece holds two small drawers along its topmost sections and an upper and lower compartment behind its two pairs of front swinging doors. Fitted with hand-forged iron hardware and plates.

Antique Korean bandaji, or blanket chest made with hardwood with original finish, iron plates and mounts on the front of the piece with floral cut-out motifs. The front has a drop-down lid with two iron pulls on decorative plates.

An exquisite hand-crafted Japanese cinnabar lacquered Inro with five compartments and Manju. It has a meticulously carved scene with 2 scholars or sages on one side and the other with two sages. The scholars are on a bridge surrounded by fronds in a garden setting. An antique Japanese 1/2 Sendai Tansu made of Kakinoki (Persimmon) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Hand made iron fittings featuring beautiful lock plates on the drawers and the hinged door.

There are 2 secret hiding compartments behind the hinged door. The first is found by sliding out the bottom drawer separator wall revealing a secret storage area where valuables could be hidden. Antique Chinese cloisonne incenser in the form of a standing duck. Vermillion tones with white, yellow and black feather details. well models with detailed lift of lid (seen on back of duck). Lid has a floral pattern with wild vines finding the correct shape. Incense flows from in side the body chamber and through the florida open lid.

Ducks are knows as winged diving birds as are regarded as a symbol of conjugal affection and fidelity.

Antique Japanese 2-section biraki isho tansu (clothing chest with opening doors) made especially for storing kimono. The top section has hinged doors which open to reveal a set of 7 kimono trays which can be slid all the way out like shallow drawers. The bottom section has three large drawers. The chest is made all of kiri (paulownia) wood and has pierced hardware with designs of peony flowers.

Antique Japanese ikebana basket for flower arranging. Round body with wide split bamboo and twisted rope bamboo foot and neck. The dramatic, arching handle is made of gnarled wisteria branches. Beautiful deep reddish finish and dark patina.

An antique Japanese 3 section Isho Tansu (clothing chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original metal hardware with mitered and straight dovetail Japanese joinery reinforced by hardened wooden nails. Upper section has two sliding doors behind which are two small drawers and a split level shelf. The center section has four large drawers and the bottom section has three large drawers. The base riser adds 3 inches of height to the overall chest.

Of Steeply conical form with a bulbous top. This jingasa is constructed of hide and cloth, shaped in a mold, lacquered in reddish brown lacquer, with a gilt rising sun mon on the rounded apex.

An antique Japanese bamboo Ikebana basket in a free-form cocoon style with a twisted bamboo rope foot. Flat split bamboo slats of smoked chestnut color in a vertical weave with a multi-node bamboo handle intertwined with a twisted bamboo rope. Artist signed at the base, Chiku Shusai.

Japanese tall armoire made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. This single section cabinet opens with two hinged cabinet doors. The interior has it's original metal rod for hanging clothes, a smaller metal rod on the right hand door and it's original small rectangular mirror. At the base is a single large drawer. Conservative design, with the only decoration being metal handles on the cabinet doors which are cut in a scrolling vine motif.

From the group of heavenly beings known as Tennin in Japan, these beautiful female figures, Tennyo, or Apsaras, are similar counter parts to the western angel. These crowned women, floating in intricately carved swirling clouds, represent heavenly attendants of the Buddhist realm.

Chinese antique painting table, all solid jumu (elm) wood, very strong traditional construction, original dark brown worn lacquer finish, beautiful grain especially on surface of table top, 19th century. Size: 32" high x 40 1/2" wide x 19 1/2" deep.

Korean ceramic bowl from the Goryeo dynasty, 12-14th century. The interior of the bowl is decorated with ducks and willow trees encircling the well which is embellished with blossoms. The exterior is decorated with a band of scrolling waves, flanking floral roundels. Old restoration. It measures 7.75" wide.

Finely carved foo dog playing with a small ball done in Jade. The fur of the foo dog is carved in stylized scrolled motif with detail work showing each fur. Antique Japanese hanging silk scroll from the 19th century, Meiji 1868-1912. There is a beautiful scene of a courtesan and pair of Kamuro order, attendants, walking under a blossoming cherry blossom tree. The screen is signed by Koryusai with seal. It measures 18.25" wide by 24.5" long.

A beautiful Japanese hibachi or also known as a brazier. The frame of the hibachi and the drawers are done in kurogaki (black persimmon wood) and the panels are done in keyaki.
