A Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze statue of Maitreya, regarded by this world as a future Buddha in succession after the current Sakyamuni Buddha. Tradition teaches that Maitreya is a Bodhisattva who will one day appear on earth to achieve enlightenment and teach the pure dharma. The Bodhisattva is seated on a double-lotus pedestal to represent purity untouched by Samsara, the copper base impressed with a four point vajra to represent the four poisons of the earthly realm.

Antique Chinese ink stone with hand-carved motifs of a bird with lily pads. The stone is smooth with patina and wear from use. The scholar object is enclosed with a hardwood case with inlay shell lotuses. Maybe Zitan.

A Japanese Butsudan, or Buddhist shrine for in-home use. The exterior of the shrine is lacquered in red with black lacquer and gold gilt pigments. The gilt hardware of the butsudan are highly ornate with motifs of chrysanthemums, lotuses, vines, and dharmachakra wheels. The lower area of the shrine features two pull-out platforms and hidden drawers. Large pair of Chinese wooden gate doors with hand-forged iron plates and hardware. The pair of doors are opened by iron fu dog heads with large ring pulls in their mouths. The top and bottom iron plates on the front of each door have foliate edges in lingzhi mushroom motifs, with iron studs and horizontal iron bands. The doors have wooden pegs to be inserted into a door frame.

Museum grade very large Japanese Ginbari enamel vase. Ginbari is a technique using a foil design made with an embossing plate. The vase has a robin's egg blue enamel ground comprised of small flowers, with Wisteria branches bearing pastel green and purple flowers, small birds perched and flying through the tree branches. The elongated vase has a slightly tapered form with short, fluted foot and neck. The edges of the lip and the top of the foot are decorated in red and blue enamel of wire spiral...

Japanese 2 panel byobu screen painting on silk, of a male and female deer resting below a maple tree. Each panel is bordered in gold leaf and signed "Kagayama Hakuho" with a red chop.

Kagayama Hakuho (1880-?) was born in the Okayama Prefecture Japan. His studies continued under Takeuchi Seiho in Kyoto, and later moved to Kobe for his work. Works by Hakuho have been displayed at the Kyoto City University of Art.

Chinese altar fruit offering in Blanc de Chine. The peach has a tendril like stem and three leaves. The base is left unglazed with a single ventilation hole to prevent it from exploding or cracking during firing.

Antique Chinese pair of porcelain hat stands, glazed with a light orange ground, enamel motifs of various flowers including peony, chrysanthemum, birds, insects, gourd bottles, and other auspicious objects. Each stand is of a hexagonal form with pierced melon shaped areas. The feet are slightly recessed with white underglaze and buff edges.

A Tibetan bronze ceremonial bell, with a gilt vajra shaped handled, finely cast with the image of a bodhisattva's head, the top of the bell with low-relief Sanskrit characters on lotus petals, small vajra pattern along the fluted edges of the bell, and an inner lotus petal design with signature inside the bell where the clapper hangs.

A Chinese gourd shaped water dropper in the form of a tiny tea pot with a hinged lid, cast with motifs of scrolling vines in low relief, with a long, prominent spout, with tripod feet. The base is imprinted with a foliate motif. With original patina.
