Incredibly charming Japanese bronze incenser in the form of a floppy eared dog, with a curly tail and and a real bell handing off of his neck. A pierced lid comes off of his back to place incense inside, which would then pillow forth from the mouth. Original natural patina from antiquity. Early Edo period (1615-1868) Size: 7" H x 7" L x 2.5" W

Antique Japanese hand-woven indigo cotton fabric, with paste resist Japanese characters in two corners, white thread sashiko stitch patterns of geometric diamonds and fan shapes, white stitched edges, white fabric with grey calligraphy sewn into center of underside with darker indigo patch. Size: 60" x 53"

Incredible Japanese highly bronze figure of three playful puppies. One falling onto his back, another laying in the middle and the last one climbing over him. They are all very finely detailed. The artist's signature on the bottom of the middle puppy. Very well done with exquisite detail.

Rare Japanese Funa Tansu (captain's ship chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood in original medium brown finish. One mon is the fuji (wisteria) of the Fujiwara family or possible of a family expressing devotion to the Kumano Shrine also associated with the wisteria motif. Meiji Period. Antique Japanese jingasa helmet, made of riveted iron panels in black lacquered, with the inside of the helmet is lacquered in red. On the front is a large ume (plum blossom) mon (family crest) belonging to the Maeda Family (ruler of the Kaga). Since the helmet is made all of iron it attests to the wealth and influence of the Maeda clan. It is more than likely that this particular helmet was worn in battle showing ware that is consistent of its age. Original lacquer and patina.

A fine collection of Persian armor and weapons, which includes the "Khulah-kud" (helmet). With its original ziggurat fringe chainmail, engraved nose guard, and gilt pointed finial. Antique fish sculpture, made from silver, with a fully articulated body, allowing wonderful lifelike movement. The forehead bears a symbol of two fish swimming closely in a yin yang formation. Its mouth is slightly open, almost smiling. Each of its scales has been embossed with intricate designs. A four character Chinese manufacturer's mark can be seen underneath the chin. Size: 7.5" L x 2" W x3.25" H

Unusual large pair of antique giboshi (bridge finials). Made of bronze mixed with a substantial amount of copper. This can be seen in areas of where people's hands have rubbed back the finish. A lovely almost black patina with areas of green. Very heavy and solid. Unusual to have a matching pair this size. Mid Edo Period (circa 1800's). Size: 16 1/2" high x 8" wide diameter.

Truly beautiful Japanese antique small earthenware jar from the Shigaraki kiln. Made from the red clay of Lake Biwa, this jar is covered with a thick mineral glaze which has dripped and pooled. It has a lip which has been dimpled for pouring and a wonderful indented area that has been blackened in the firing process. The ash glaze on the lip and on the inside is a lovely green color. Wonderful large carved wooden face of a man. His mouth is open wide and whiskers splay outward. He has a wide nose and large eyes. He appears to be wearing an oval shaped hat on which is carved an animal of some sort with long striped tail and clawed feet. The wood is beautifully worn from years of weather and rain. There are traces of white and yellow paint. Thailand. Early 19th century. Size: 24" high x 17" wide x 3 1/2" deep.

Beautiful Japanese two section Keyaki Isho tansu. Original clear lacquer finish over the keyaki hardood. Stricking bold front hardwood panel. Each draw has a center round lock incised with various symbols such as pine trees, fans, and Daikokku's money bag and mallet. The bottom corner has a locking box with two small drawers inside. Chinese Neolithic ceremonial harvesting blade (hu), made of semi translucent mottled green nephrite. Exceptionally thin and sharp cutting edge. 4 conical holes would have been for attaching to wooden handle on working versions of this type of blade. Likely from the Longshan culture.
