Japanese set of 12 flathead piercing tip arrows. Polished, forged steel tips. Mounted on a circular presentation base. Chinese pair of monochrome porcelain vases with a speckled raspberry glaze. They are of an elegant, elongated tapering form, the bases of each vase marked with Hongxian red seal. In the year 1916, Yuan Shikai attempted to reinstate monarchy by naming himself the Emperor of China after the Qing Dynasty was overthrown in 1911.
