This Buddha conveys classical Chinese features, a rounded face and chin, full lips and graceful eyes nearly closed. The high detail on the snail-shell hair curls attest to its providence. Chinese sandstone carving of Buddha's head, a fragment from a larger statue. This buddha has delicate features and a beautiful expression with high arching brows over half lidded eyes and a slight smile. Hair is a series of continuous sweeping rows over a subtle cranial protuberance. Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Size of head: 12 1/2" high. Total size including stand: 18 1/2" high. (custom Black Iron Stand).

Antique Chinese figure of the goddess Quanyin seated with a child on her lap. Made of bronze and lacquered in red then black lacquer, this statue was once completely covered in gold. The goddess of compassion sits with one hand delicately balanced on her knee. The other hand holds the hand of the tiny girl-child in her lap. Both goddess and child are sculpted with beautiful expressions and naturalistic details. Qing Dynasty. Size: 24" high x 17" wide x 14" deep.

Charming Chinese acrobat in a handstand atop a natural rootwood base. The acrobat is hand carved out of boxwood. He wears shorts tied at the waist and a pair boots. His hair is tied back and he has a goatee. Very finely carved. It is from the Ching Dynasty, 19th century. It measures 27 tall, about 18" wide at the base. Excellent original condition.

Chinese soapstone carving of a scene from a folk tale: the famous Tang Dynasty poet, Meng Haoran (689-740) ventures out into the snow with his young attendant in search of plum blossoms in the snowy hills. In finding this hint of early spring, he hoped to find inspiration for his poems. They see an amazing plum tree starting it's bloom in the cold of late winter...

Antique Chinese hardwood ancestral carving of a seated scholar. He wears a gilt robed with elaborately carved designs and jewel accents, and highlights of red, green, and blue pigment. Pair of Chinese small stone lions, wonderfully carved with great detail and expression, traces of color, each lion is carved standing on a little stone platform, Ming Dynasty. Size: 7" high x 4" wide x 5 1/2" deep.

Beautiful Chinese tomb pottery horse in two pieces, sculpted of gray clay and painted with slip, wonderful dramatic shape, expressive face with open mouth, painted with white slip, traces of orange and black slip details especially on the head and face. Han Dynasty 206 B.C. - A.D. 220. Size:16 3/4" high x 20" wide x 7" deep.

A Chinese Jade carving of a lady carrying a baby. The jade carving contains fine details of the hair, robes, and tassels the lady is wearing. Size: length 2.25" width 1" height 7"

Beautifully carved soap stone figure of sage Fulushuo, he leans on an elaborately carved staff and hold the peach of longevity, on an intricately carved dark stone stand on which are carved a bat and a deer, also symbols of happiness and longevity, wonderful expression, stone of a lovely orange and green, Republic Period (circa 1910-1930). Total size: 20 3/4" high x 8" wide x 5 1/2" deep.

Chinese antique figure of Fugen the Bodhisatva of Faith and Practice, She is sitting on top of her elephant vehicle with one foot on a lotus blossom, carved of wood with muted gold and red lacquer, 19th century. Size: 16 1/2" high x 14 3/4" wide x 9 1/4" deep.
