A beautiful Thai painting portraying a Jataka tale. A royal chariot of with the future Buddha before he renounced his royal position. At the bottom of the painting four devotees are holding lotus buds perhaps indicative of another time frame. Done with mineral pigments and the most exquisite coloration. This thai painting was part of a Buddhist prayer book. On the backside a message in is beautifully written. Age: 18th-19th century. Size: 11.625"H x 8.625"L

Beautiful antique Burmese Sutra, printed on leaves depicting different stories of the Buddha with his teachings. With fine printed writings on the back side and around the edges. Incised and stained with ink. Held together with lacquered and gilted wood with a raised scrolling leaves designs, lions and elephants. Age: Late 19th Century / early 20th century. Size: 19" length x 28.5" height.

A red Indonesian topeng mask possibly depciting a warrior or an old man. The mask contains sections where the beard and the eye brows may have been attached. The mask is made into two sections where the jaw, a separate section, would move making the mask animate. Age: 19th-20th century Size: Length 4.75" Width 3.25" Height 7"

Burmese painting done on a large, cloth canvas, likely depicting the Jataka tales, or stories of Buddha, with nine separate panels, each depicting a different tale of Buddha's previous lives. The very center painting shows Buddha sitting in a lotus position with two attendants at his sides, their hands clasped in prayer to him, and it is the only panel that does not have any Burmese script in white paint...

Antique Indian miniature painting of a Maharaja on horseback with attendant and flywhisk, drawing in ink and sepia tones with gold highlights. Rank of rider shown by jewelry worn and on red footed white horse. Long pleated white clothing. Horse rearing up, rider sitting effortlessly and regally. Condition toned and worn.

Antique Burmese/Thai religious text in book form. Written in ink on paper, folded and and bound so that the pages accordion and are covered with writing on both front and back. The covers of the book are embossed and lacquered with red covered with gold which has gained a lovely patina over time.
