Antique hard-carved wooden duyo bowl, with two smaller pockets branching from the main dish. All solid hardwood and heavy. "Mickey Mouse Tray." From the Philippines. Early 19th Century. Size: 19" L x 16.5" W x 4.5" H

An Indonesian mask carved in the form of a male figure. The mask is carved and painted with fur used to express the eye brows and mustache. A symbol like form is carved on the back of the mask to bless the mask and to animate the mask when being used. These masks are often used in Bali and Java during religious ceremonies performing the legend of the Hindu gods. Age: 19th-20th century. Size: Length: 8.25" Width: 3.25" Height" 7.5"

Unusual and Charming Deer torso mounted on a very nice custom Iron stand. Deer is from Thailand dating to the early both Century. Primitively carved molave hardwood mortar from the Philippines. This container would have been used for food preparation for grinding grain. It has an interesting wooden handle that gives this piece an unusual character. The bottom of the square bowl is worn through with years of use.

Beautiful Indonesia teak mortar of indigenous form made from a burl stump. Delightful form and texture and beautiful tones of wood throughout, 20th century. Size: 14" h x 26" l x 22" d.

An antique Papau New Guinea Yipwon figure of the Alamblak people. Anthropomorphic opposing hook style hardwood carving. A large one such as this was collectively owned by clans and worshipped to bring victory to battles and success during hunting. The Yipwon is the patron spirit of warfare and hunting. Custom metal fabricated stand supports the figure.

Antique wooden carving, that once served as decoration to the front of an Burmese ox cart, depicting a being called a 'kinnaya' from Buddhist and Hindu mythology. Kinnaya are half-bird and half-human celestial musicians. Buddhists believe that Buddha was incarnate as a kinnaya four times in his existence. 19th century- Has stand. Garuda, in Hindu mythology, an eagle is the vahana (mount) of the god Vishnu. An original Burmese hand-carved wooden mythological Garuda bird/human. Shown here as an eagle with Deer antlers and leather "feathers" shown on the sides and top of its head. Hand-painted eyes and beak in red, brown and black feathers, with facial features of a human inside the Garuda's beak...

Antique wooden lusong (mortar). This lusong was used with a lomok (pestal) by the B'laan people to pound rice in order to separate the grain from the husks. The B'laan people are indigenous of Southern Mindanao in the Philippines. This lusong is especially large and beautifully carved of a single piece of hardwood. Size: 24 1/2" high x 21 1/4" wide diameter.
