An antique Japanese Ikebana bamboo basket in a tall slender design. With a matched Wisteria handle that sweeps high over the top of the basket and dramatically extends to the waist. The body is divided by three levels, each separated by a distinct weave. Base is comprised of three layered concentric rings that provide a strong foundation for this work of art.

An antique Japanese Ikebana bamboo basket in a baluster form. A pair of twisting branches form the handle and extend in a swirl pattern around the body. The knots connecting the branches to the body take the shape of stylized cranes and turtles. The body has a criss cross spiral weave.

Antique Chinese small porcelain water coupe. Painted with intricate and colorful scenes of a mountain landscape. Figures look out the windows of waterside huts while men fish from boats. Pines and blossoming trees grow on blue-geen mountains and rocks. There is calligraphy near the mouth of the coupe and a studio mark on the bottom.

Antique Japanese bronze koro (censer) in the form of the trickster, Tanuki. In this depiction, Tanuki takes the form of a monk with a wide hat on. Fine details of his fur and vines of grape leaves wraps around him (fittingly as Tanuki is fond of wine). The leaves on the vine and on his hat are made of cloisonné in various fall colors. There is a raised cartouche on the bottom. The hat can be removed to put incense inside the Tanuki container...

Japanese antique Bugaku theatre mask for Genjoraku dance. The imperial court dance has been performed for over 12 hundred years. During the Edo Period, the dance was performed as part of shrine festivals to celebrate prosperity and peace. This mask is carved of wood with a moveable jaw.
