Antique Japanese large scroll painting on silk of a buck and a doe. With incredible detailing such as the thousands of individual hairs on each deer, piercing eyes, long strands of grass with intermingled berry shrubs and blossoming flowers. Creating a tranquil nature scene. Signed "Toko" Tsuchinoto (boar) Aki. Taisho period circa 1920's. Autumn, Year 36 of 60 year cycle. Comes with original tomobako. Rare Tibetan antique skull drum called a damaru (or damru). Two skulls make up the two sided drum connected in the middle. Two small beads at the end of thin cords attached in the center beat the drum when it held upright and twisted. A long silk sash (chopen) decorated with two tassels and auspicious symbols hangs from the center. The damaru is a sacred instrument adopted from the Hindu tantric practices of ancient India...

Complete footed cast bronze Hu (wine container), terminating curved and bulbous contour flaring on square mouth. Banded edge and lidded square cover. Has a slight apex top with four serpentine shaped mounted on a terminal bends. The ring handles of the hu measures 2 1/2" diameter with loped and mounted on a taotie mask which is molded in low relief...

Beautiful Japanese antique 2-section Keyaki isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing). Wonderfully dramatic kayaki (zelkova) grain on front. Enhanced by the Original finish in translucent lacquer. Black iron hardware including warabite shaped drawer pulls, safe box in lower right hand corner with 2 small interior drawers. Round iron lock plates with mixed metal raised motif of implements of the Lucky Gods. Original condition and finish. Early Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) ...

Chinese porcelain water dropper in the form of a squirrel eating grapes. Glazed in colors of bright blue, green, pale pink, and black. Wonderfully lifelike details. Size: 4"L x 1.5" W x 1.75" H

Incredibly charming Japanese bronze incenser in the form of a floppy eared dog, with a curly tail and and a real bell handing off of his neck. A pierced lid comes off of his back to place incense inside, which would then pillow forth from the mouth. Original natural patina from antiquity. Early Edo period (1615-1868) Size: 7" H x 7" L x 2.5" W

Antique Japanese hand-woven indigo cotton fabric, with paste resist Japanese characters in two corners, white thread sashiko stitch patterns of geometric diamonds and fan shapes, white stitched edges, white fabric with grey calligraphy sewn into center of underside with darker indigo patch. Size: 60" x 53"

Incredible Japanese highly bronze figure of three playful puppies. One falling onto his back, another laying in the middle and the last one climbing over him. They are all very finely detailed. The artist's signature on the bottom of the middle puppy. Very well done with exquisite detail.

Pair of beautiful small porcelain plates decorated with scrolling vines and blue flowers. Details in blue, light green, red and gold. 6 character marks on the bottom state that the dishes are from the reign of Guangxu (1875-1908). Qing Dynasty mark and period. Size of each: 5 3/8" wide diameter.

Japanese rare hand-woven fabric made from asa (hemp), with an ikat egasuri weave, rice field patterns with yin yang symbols, in cool shades of grey, brown, and black. 19th century Size: 70.5" x 38.5"

Antique Chinese pewter censer with handle and a reticulated lid with two incised dragons circling a ball. Nice patina on interior. Late 19th century Qing Dynasty. Size: 6" H (to top of handle), 6.5" W

Tall Japanese Boy's Day banner depicting 3 samurai on horseback. Wonderfully dramatic scene with swords drawn and crashing waves on a black ground. Bright colors in paste resist dye on cotton. The top of the banner is decorated with a wood sorrel (katabami) mon. Taisho Period. Size: 23 1/2 feet high x 33 inches wide.

Antique Chinese porcelain vase with famille rose glazing, textured body with wave patterns, dimensional images of the 8 Immortals on clouds, gilt rim with light blue glaze interior, light blue glazed foot with scrolling patterns. 19th century vase with Qianlong mark on bottom of foot. Size: 8.5" H x 5" W

Antique Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). Made of beautiful silk brocade originally intended for an obi. Gold and green with woven pattern of pine, bamboo and chrysanthemums. The lining is sewn of red silk and the hem is padded. Meiji Period. Size: 61" high x 47 1/2" wide (sleeve to sleeve).

Rare Japanese Funa Tansu (captain's ship chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood in original medium brown finish. The upper portion has a large front drawer with kakute (squared) iron handles and decorative iron plating, lined in attractive silver rice paper. The bottom portion is very unusual because the right door opens on a hinge while the left door slides on a track revealing four small drawers also lined in silver rice paper...

Chinese jadeite pendant, carved into a bottle gourd with two delicate chimeras climbing along the sides. Greyed green coloration of the bottom and lavender white at the top. 18KT gold fixture at the top to hang as a pendant. Size: 1.25 " x 1/2"

Small Chinese jadeite carving of a melon with flecked shades of white, light green, and apple green, carved with the vine curling down its backside and a lingzhi motif at the top of the vine. Pierced through the top to be worn as a pendant. Size: 1.25" x 1/2"

Dramatic Japanese Boy's Day Banner depicting the warrior Kashiwade no Hanoshi defeating a tiger. Colorful paste resist dyed and painted cotton. Tall banner with two mon (crests) at the top. One mon is the fuji (wisteria) of the Fujiwara family or possible of a family expressing devotion to the Kumano Shrine also associated with the wisteria motif. Meiji Period. Size: 16 feet high x 32 inches wide (including tabs)
