A mid century 3 section Isho Biraki Tansu (Kimono chest with hinged doors) made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Kaki (Persimmon) woods. All original bronze hardware. Top section features four sliding doors which open to a split lever shelf and two small drawers. Below this are 3 side by side drawers. The center section has two hinged doors that open to reveal 4 removable Kimono trays while the bottom section has two large drawers. The sections can be separated for use in different rooms of a house...

Beautiful mother of pearl inlaid in hardwood. The arms are inlaid with a scroll design. The back of the chair is inlaid with an elegant battle scene with men on horseback and a fort. The reverse of the chair is inlaid with flowers. The seat has 4 petal pattern at each corner. The legs, arms, and frame of the chair are beautifully carved with bats, plums and a scrolling pattern. Measures 41" tall, seat measures 16" wide, 17.5" tall.

Balinese antique pair of Dwarapala temple guardians. Carved of stone, these figures once guarded a temple entrance, a warning to humans and negative energies not to pass. Woodblock print by Japanese sōsaku hanga (creative print) artist Rikio Takahashi (1917-1999) titled 'Old Drift'. Takahashi had a very unique style of abstract art. Chinese pair of jade cylinders carved with dragons. Each cylinder is made of green and white mottled jade. The dragons float in the sky surrounds by fire, mist and lingzhi shaped cloud forms.

Chinese vintage belt hook carved in the form of a dragon's head curled to face a crouching chimera with scrolling vines in his jaws. On top of the chimera's back is a bat and coin representing good fortune. The jadeite is very beautiful in color and ranges from a pale, almost white starting at the head of the dragon and gradates to a bright orange color with a steak of bright green in the center. Size: 5 1/4" long x 7/8" wide x 1 3/4" high

A small yet lively Chinese jade carving of a mythical beast known as pixiu, a mythical beast that is similar to a winged lion. The pixiu is an important creature that attracts zaiqi or the energy of wealth and retains it while keeping evil spirits at bay, according to traditional fengshui. Age: 19th century. A traditional oribe ware handled dish decorated with geometric patterns and the signature green glaze that oribe wares are known for. The green glaze used for oribe is thought be difficult to produce and only the most skilled potters can produce the green color by knowing the temperature and timing when fired. The dish was produced by the Gensui kiln in Seto city Aichi prefecture. The studio specializes in producing oribe wares. Age: Showa Period. Size: height 10" diameter 14.5"

A Chinese qinhua or blue and white vase, beautifully painted, in the form often seen in archaic bronzes known as a gu, or a wine vessel. The vase is decorated with framed sections of views of landscapes and scholars near an embankment. The images are surrounded by cloud patterns with the character longevity done in the seal script. The vase has a Kangxi mark, but most likely republic period. Size: diameter 4.2 in. height 9 in.

Simple yet elegant sobriquet seal utilizing a Chinese stone similar to chicken blood stone. The seal contains an inscription which translates as: The seal was carved on an auspicious day in December of 1958 (for) Fujiwara Gyokuun. The carved bottom of the seal contains a three character text reading: Kingensen, or The well where gold can be found. Size: height 1.75" width 0.5" length 1.25"
