Japanese antique buddhist priest's robe, made all of woven silk, blue ground with gold medallions with cranes and pine bow design, sewn in panels, original white and purple cord on sleeves, late Meiji Period. Size: 60" high x 77" wide.

This print is part of a collection of four volumes; three books have 10 prints each of paintings and fans, one has 7. This is a print of a fan painting. A sage stands and a young boy sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean that has beautiful trees. Below, a goat and three sheep walk on the grass. In the distance the clouds roll in over the water...

Vintage chinese woodblock color print of Chinese tea house, called Red Frog in Shanghai by Elizabeth Keith, 1887-1956. It depicts a large tea house bustling with people; outside, a mother with her children, a bearded man, and other civilians. Inscribed on back "tea house of the red frog in shanghai by Elizabeth Keith purchased at Sojourner's B1 Army Officers 1945 Seoul, Korea Oct. 1960 R.M. Heikes" Signed lower right front with stamp EK 1924. Good condition and color.

A Chinese landscape painting done on a gold paper base done in the style of Zhang Da Qian. The work contains a signature and seal of Zhang Da Qian's noted disciple Sun Yunsheng (1918-2000). Zhang Da Qian established a style influenced from traditional Chinese landscape paintings combined with Song Dynasty style ink wash landscapes. Work is dated in June of 1975. A print of a woman in a field of camellias by Shiko Munakata, 1903-1975. A zen Buddhist, he worked in oil painting, then woodblock printing, calligraphy and ceramics. He is sometimes called the Japanese Picasso because of his prolific multi media creative work. He was part of the sasuka-hanga movement and the mingei, folk art, movement. He is from the northern region of Aomori and incorporated many of those local themes into his art. This print measures 11.75" wide by 15.5" tall...

Chinese soapstone pebble, beautifully carved with scene of three luohan (monks), one is standing with alms bowl outstretched out of which a cloud of mist rises and wraps to the reverse of the pebble, two bats fly over the bowl, surrounding the monks are rocks and low branches, lovely yellow and buff colors, on carved wooden base. Japanese 4-panel byobu folding screen, with a shochikubai or "Three Friends of Winter" motif (plum, pine, and bamboo), the image of a pheasant seated upon a jagged rock formation, with a small singing bird on the twisting trunk of the plum tree. The image was taken directly from a commemorative stamp which is affixed to the corner of the frame.

The distinct and pleasant fragrance of aloeswood is the result of a special kind of mould and is highly treasured for its use in incense and perfumes among various Eastern religions. Two large boats are returning to shore, covered in snow from their long trip. Very detailed work with a lot of realism, the artist truly captured the feeling of an extremely cold climate. Japanese contemporary ceramic vase for ikebana, or flower arrangements. It has a very interesting, gritty textural surface and color scheme of blues, purples, and brownish-greens. The interior of the vase is slightly ribbed with vertical lines going down its sides, with a yellow/brown/green and blue glaze. Signature on bottom.
