One side of the bottle shows a hawk perched upon a branch with blooming flowers, and the other side shows a dog pup gazing up at the bird. Has a jade topper. The bottle stopper is carved green agate in the shape of a ram-like creature with a single curved horn, its entire body coiled around itself. Chinese cloisonne horse decorated with archaic geometric designs often seen in Chinese bronzes from the Republic period with motifs of chrysanthemums and phoenixes. The saddle is decorated with a scrolling vine design with chrysanthemums recalling central Asian motifs. The bridle is decorated with small plum blossoms. Age: 20th century. An interesting Japanese cloisonne hexagonal vase decorated with motifs of chrysanthemums. The cloisonne is done in a technique aka-sukashi, ginbari, where the metal base contains a pattern which is showing through the red cloisonne glaze.
