An antique Tibetan storage trunk with center dragon motif surrounded by an intricate textile pattern. Stylized Vajra metal clasp on cover with two iron ring hinges securing the top to the body.

Rare antique Indonesian textile that is a jataka of tales of Rama with forty-nine painted scenes with script on top of scenes, wondrous scenes of monstrous sea creatures and key scenes of life of Rama are depicted in charming traditionally painted scenes outlined in wood-like columns with black with blues, reds, khaki greens, on beige background. Made of fine cotton on stretched frame.

A large Persian textile "Suzani" which literally means "needlework". The cotton cloth is hand-embroidered with complex floral medallions and scrolling work with brightly colored silk thread. These traditional Suzani would be used for headscarves, ottoman covers, prayer mats, wall hangings, and many other uses.

Gorgeous Chinese coat made all of silk with silk embroidered design of blue and white peonies, chrysanthemums and butterflies on an orange silk ground, pattern of waves and rocks along hem, sleeves of white silk embroidered with more flowers and butterflies, forbidden stitch (see detail photo), ribbon applique on sleeves and neck, lined in light blue silk, minor spots and fraying on sleeves, c. 1900. Beautiful antique Japanese large covering originally used in a Buddhist temple. Three deep blue silk panels sewn together and woven with gold in design of 18 chrysanthemums and 18 floral roundels. Chrysanthemums with 32 petals, back is lined with a light blue cotton.
Inscription of previous owner, which states: Noto, Kashima-gun, Koura Village property of the abbot of Kouken (ji) temple. (Present Day Ishikawa Prefecture, Nanao city)

Large antique Japanese Buddhist temple textile made of green silk and woven with gold gilt-paper weft (ginran or kinren) in a design of dragon medallions floating amongst billowing clouds. Dragons have long been used in Buddhist art symbolizing the endless cycle of transformation. This textile piece consists of two long woven panels sewn together and backed with white cotton fabric. Has inscription on back.

An antique Chinese red brocade panel decorated with auspicious motifs. In the central section, the brocade is decorated with repeating pattern of children where one is holding a musical instrument known as a sheng and the other is holding a toy-like object. A set of kamishimo and hakama made from cotton used to dress a bunraku puppet. The fabric is utilizing a cherry blossom pattern with a wave motif. The cherry blossoms are done in a style known as katagami, where the pattern is printed using a paper cut out placed on top of the fabric and dye is coated over it.
