Antique Chinese snuff bottle made of light green glass, carved in the shape of an eggplant or aubergine, with a topper made of coral. "Qie zi" is the Chinese word for eggplant, and because saying it makes one appear to smile, it is often used when taking photographs to make the subjects look happy, making it a symbol for good luck. The coral cap resembles a hat, which is a sign of a government official. 19th century Size: 2.5" long, .75" wide
