Japanese six-panel Tosa school screen with breathtaking paintings of the Kyoto region. Scenes of Yasaka Shrine, Tenryu-ji, Kiyomizu-dera, and Toji are depicted. It has gilded clouds that are separating and partially obscuring the many different scenes and activities. The paintings are so detailed and vibrant and truly capture how bustling life would have been in Kyoto. It is edged in blue woven fabric with green and gold dragons and flowers. Meiji period (1867-1912) . Estate of Horn. Size: 67.75" height, 150" wide
