Very Unusual Antique Japanese Noh theater mask of a dog. Noh ( 能 ), or Nogaku (能楽 Nōgaku) — derived from the Sino-Japanese word for "skill" or "talent"—is a major form of classical Japanese musical drama that has been performed since the 14th century. Developed by Kan'ami and his son Zeami, it is the oldest major theatre art still regularly performed today. Overall in good condition with original finish. Edo Period Circa 18th century. It measures 6" wide 8" tall 4.5" deep.
