Unusual pair of Korean inlaid black lacquer ichung nong stacking chests on stands. The interior of each section is lined in original blue paper. The front Nong has a brass plate in the form of a butterfly with complete circle knob brass locks and key and brass butterfly hinges on each door. Each chest is detailed on top, front, and sides with highly intricate mother of pearl inlay scenes of fishermen on boats, beautiful women, deer, rabbits, travelers riding donkeys, and vast landscape scenes. Each chest comes in three sections including the base, inlaid with floral scroll motifs.
