An elegant second standard (800/1000 pour silver) French tastevin. A very nice stockinette face doll with button eyes and embroidered eyebrows, nose and mouth. She has raveled yarn hair, she has attached arms and legs and sewn on stockinette shoes. She has wear on hands and on her black stockings. She is firmly stuffed with cotton. She is looking for Vera Wang but until then is wearing a camisole and pantaloons. She is 20" tall and is circa 1890

English, most likely Bilston, eighteenth century. The elongated oval shape, all over floral decoration, and the unusual brown painted panels are not infrequent characteristics of Bilston’s “gingham finish” enamel boxes, hence the Bilston attribution.

Fine cracks to enamel, and small losses on both sides and back.

Antique Victorian era S Kirk & Son sterling silver pin cushion with purple velvet liner. A must have for the collector of fine Victorian sewing accoutrements or the collector of unusual sterling pieces. Fully hallmarked. American and in excellent condition, it measures 6" diameter.

Early all hand sewn with tiny stitches black doll. The embroidered face is outstanding with the raised eyes, the pupils on a bed of white layered thread and her mouth is also done that same technique. For hair she has cotton floss thread sewn to her head and it is most effective. She has attached arms and legs so she sits easily. Her body is stuffed firmly with cotton. Over all she is in very good condition with only slight discoloration from age and use...

Edwardian sterling silver covered urn. Made by William Comyns in London in 1908. Bowl has straight sides and curved bottom with leaf-capped and wrapped s-scroll side handles and stepped inset foot. Bid and bold chased leaf-and-dart border. Cover raised with bud finial surrounded by turned-down leaves with same border. Striking with plenty of room for engraving. Gilt-washed interior. Fully marked. Excellent condition.

A very unique 14 sided paperweight with an interior sculpture having a latticino base supporting stranded cage housing a green glass bubble. Its quality workmanship is accented by the beveled edges on the top and bottom. In excellent condition and unsigned. Please note that the glass is slightly yellow, due in large measure tot he yellow glass rods. Our images suggest a clearer brighter glass, but that is not the case when viewed in normal light. Fabulous 19th century sterling silver christening cup by Whiting Manufacturing Company--one of the America's most sophisticated silver companies. The entire surface is covered with repousse decoration of roses, lilies, and philodendron leaves. A reserve, just opposite the handle, is engraved "Lily". Cups such as these were used as presentation gifts for babies when they were christened. Most often, they were given by the godparents...

Patented January 1890. What is unusual about this lamp is that it is a finger lamp, too. That is a safety feature.

This cloth doll has very dear oil painted face with great soft blue eyes. She has leather hands that could be original by the way they are put on. (I bet some mother was proud of herself for thinking of using old children's gloves for unique hands!) She has the body form, like so many cloth dolls, that looks like they were meant to ride a horse. The stance gives her the look of authority. She is cotton stuffed rather firmly and because she is not jointed she is pretty much a standing doll...

Large French Etruscan 950 silver coffeepot, ca 1820. Ovoid body with spool neck, side-hinged cover, and raised and round foot. Upright S-spout with ram’s head mouth, and low relief leaves and gadroons. Leaf-and-dart borders. Cover has bud finial on scroll and flower mount. A creamware plate with a pierced border of alternating piercing patterns and gilt sections. A gilt bird stands in the well of the plate. The decoration is out of character for English style of the period so I would guess that the plate is Continental and from around 1800. It is 7 ½ inches (19 cm) diameter. No marks on the back.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some scratches and wear to the gilding.

A couple of (shade and ewer) iridescent glass items, made by Imperial glass. The shade is 5 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches wide (at the flared end) and has a 2 1/4 inch fitter opening (some roughness to the fitter end, as made). The ewer is 7 1/4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide (to handle-tip). One flea-bite on lid-bottom (hidden when lid is in place). Polished pontil. Both unsigned.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It measures 8 ¾ inches in diameter. The plate is made of fine, white bone china. The rim has a rococo style. It is elaborately hand enameled with raised paste gilding...

An interesting antique bronze figure, Roman style, possible after antiquity, likely 19th. century AD.

A good bronze, likely of the god Herculas (now missing the club), with fine patina and mounted by way of a brass pin. The mounting is old and the collection whence it came is old too.

We're not certain about the age of this piece so we're selling it as antique but not as ancient.

A nicely decorated lobed dinner plate with an off center bouquet of bright flowers in the well of the plate, two sprays of flowers on the lip and a reddish-purple rim. A little green bud near the rim covers a firing flaw. Diameter 9 7/8 inches (25 cm). Underglaze blue mark of crowned interlaced Cs.

Condition; very good and little wear. A short hairline crack from the rim goes about an inch into the plate.

Bright colors and interesting that no gilding was used.

Classical sterling silver bird bath compote. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Shallow bowl with turned-down rim and raised foot. Two cast bird figures with voluminous plumage and flamboyant crowns perch on bowl rim, ready to cluck and flap and flutter. Stylized and raised ornament on rim, including leaf-and-dart and dentil. Fully marked with pre-1875 pattern no. 3739 and directors’ letter M (1873-91). Very good condition with deep patina.

A thick tapered sided tile decorated in blue of a man in a hat swinging a colf club at a ball with the post that is the target of the game in the distance. There is no decoration in the four corners. Colf was a Dutch game that may have been the predecessor to golf. The tile is approx. 4 7/8 inches 912.5 cm) square and 3/8 inches (1.2 cm) thick.

Condition: major chip to the upper left corner, smaller chips around the edges and a number of small pock-marks in the glaze on the face of the tile...
