Very large and impressive brown-glazed Bartmannskrug or Bellarmine Jug, Raeren, Germany c. Late 17th.- early 18th century AD.

The jug with lovely warm brown glaze and a detailed bartmann on the neck and a small ring handle.

Size: c. 42 cm. tall!

Condition: Extremely fine, completely intact!

The figure stands on a large Lotus throne on top of high hexagonal plint in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour blue and torqoise glazed robe. Under his arm he holds a bottle.

A large gold lustre and blue on a cream ground Spanish first half of the 16th century charger, probably Valencia, Manises. Molded with a dome in the center and leaves around the rim with a hole for hanging pierced in the rim before firing. 16 ¾ inches (42.5 cm) diameter.

Condition: Broken and restuck with some fairly crude filling of a couple of lost bits. One serious rim chip and numerous glaze and minor chips on the edge. Some wear to the gold lustre...

A blue and white hand painted wall tile of a dog rising up on its hind legs. The animal is surrounded by a circle of a wavy line with dots in the wave troughs and flowers in the corners. It is 5 1/8 inches (13 cm) square about ½ inch (1.2 cm) tall. The red clay sides are beveled so that the back is slightly smaller than the front. This style of decoration was used in the 2nd quarter of the 17th century.

Condition: damage along the edges, especially the right one with a big chip in the upper...
