This porcelain box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords on the bottom. The box measures 4 1/2” long, 3” wide and 2 1/2” deep, The lid had a finely hand painted bull finch bir perched in a blue berry branch. The coloring is vibrant and the style realistic. Little flying insects dot the bottom half of the box. The rims are trimmed with gold.
Condition: Very slight wear to gilding on edge. There are no other defects.

This ceramic box with brass mounts was produced in France by Gien around 1875. It is 6 1/2 inches high and has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. The ceramic is soft paste with a tin glaze similar to majolica. If you run your fingers around the piece, you can actually feel the enamel painting. This set of 6 covered chocolate cups or pot de crèmes was produced in England in the mid 19th century. They are unmarked so we cannot identify them specifically. They are 4 1/2 inches high including the lids. They are made of fine bone china. They are decorated with wide panels of bright orange. There are flowers and gilded leaves within these panels. The finials on the lids and rims are trimmed with gold. The cups bear a gilded wreath containing a monogram.

A group of four hand painted German porcelain cups and saucers by Helena Wolfsohn c1870s-80s. Each has fine floral decoration with garlands and gold trim and highlights, both inside and out. Each has a blue ground and all have the blue Wolfsohn backstamp (crowned D over Hand painted Dresden Saxony). One has "Handgemalt" instead of handpainted, and all have the gold rose overstamp. The cups stand 2" high and the saucers are 5-7/8" across, and each saucer also is stamped with a retailer stamp....

A blue and white hand painted wall tile of a dog rising up on its hind legs. The animal is surrounded by a circle of a wavy line with dots in the wave troughs and flowers in the corners. It is 5 1/8 inches (13 cm) square about ½ inch (1.2 cm) tall. The red clay sides are beveled so that the back is slightly smaller than the front. This style of decoration was used in the 2nd quarter of the 17th century.

It has been a long while since we have offered a Massier duck for sale, due in no small part to their rarity. A Very Fine/Large Celadon Inlaid Cosmetic Box and Cover-13th C.: Korea, Koryo period, 13th Century,
It is a quite large circular box with domed cover decorated in inlaid
with a double cranes within a double white slip inlaid surrounded by
four cranes flying in raining on the cover, the edges in a white slip
inlaid with a stylized pattern. It is in fine condition with no damage at all.
It measures 9,5cm x 4.5cm or 3 3/4” x 1 3/4”.
