The vast majority of opaque twist glasses have straight stems, and the addition of even one knop adds substantially to the difficulty of making them, and to the value. Each additional knop increases these factors...

You would be forgiven if you thought that this vase was made by Tiffany since its maker, Alton Manufacturing, hired away several Tiffany glass makers to start its production of competing wares in 1907, the only year the company produced glass.

Offered is this beautiful, applied-threaded, Czech / Bohemian, ribbed glass fan vase, made most likely by Kralik. The vase is 9 1/2 inches (24 cm) tall, 8 inches (20,5 cm) wide and 2 1/4 inches (5,5 cm) deep. The vase is in very good condition. Polished pontil. Unsigned, except for the, 'Czechoslovakia', mark on its bottom (barely visible in the last picture) - the straight-line 'Czechoslovakia' mark was used by Kralik.

From the estate of the late Violet Trefusis, exquiste large etched English or French Crystal Perfume Bottle with angled sides depicting a beautiful Deer in a Forest landscape, gilt top, original cork and intact crystal stopper. Base is etched with "38". Very good condition, Size: H. 12.5 cm. x top width 6.5 cm.

Save 15% today... This fabulous find is a delicate blown lead crystal cruet with a large bubble Stopper. Both the body and the stopper share the broad leaves and vines cut and etched motif. It is numbered on the bottom, 43. I don't know if someone etched this number on later or if it was part of numbering system from its maker... who knows. The handle is over-sized, applied and cut to easily manipulate this dear cruet. It is 6" high to the top of the etched stopper.

A fine sweetmeat with a double ogee bowl with a slightly everted rim. The bowl is atop a bladed knop, below which is a hollow 8 sided molded pedestal stem. At the bottom of the stem are 4 merises above a nicely domed and folded foot.

The glass is in overall excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. There is a small (1/4" by 1/8") manufacturing flaw in the side of the bowl, shown in extreme closeup in the 4th photo. The flaw can be seen and felt on both sides, but in not broken...

This is a really nice depression glass green Bowknot 3 3/4 inch diameter low footed sherbet dish made by the Belmont Tumbler Company in the 1920s. This sherbet can be hard to find. This glass vase was produced in France in the mid 19th century. We do not know the maker since the vase is not signed. The glass has a lead content and rings when pinged. The vase is hand blown and has a polished pontil. The vase is 13 3/4 inches tall. The diameter of the opening is 6 1/4 inches. The vase is wonderfully hand painted. There is a life-like parrot perched on a branch with his wings out-spread...

A scarce covered jar in the early American pressed or pattern glass Festoon pattern, issued by Beatty Brady Glass Co. (Indiana 1898). A beautiful, hand-painted creamer and sugar set in ornate Wilcox quadruple-plated silver holders. Both pieces of glass are decorated with flowers, butterflies, etc. The metallic holders have superb wrap-around decor. Offered is this pair of Mt Washington Burmese glass vases with applied handles in their 'Egyptian' pattern. Offered is this beautiful hand-painted jug or decanter (9 1/2 inches or 24 cm in length), made probably by Moser. There is beautiful enameling on the container. There is damage to the duck's beak (a long flake and chip - see last two pictures). The container fluoresces a gentle-green under black-light - so, its glass-blank is of late 19th century or early 20th century Bohemian origin.

This is a beautiful, French cameo glass vase, made by DeVez, a contemporary of Daum Freres of Nancy, France. The banjo vase is 6 1/4 inches (16 cm) tall. The vase is in excellent condition (there is a fabrication flaw on the top rim of the vase, typical of hand-made items - see last picture). Polished pontil.

Although not marked, this art glass piece bears the styling and quality of Victorian pieces made by the Stevens and Williams Ltd of England and in the 1870s under the direction of John Northwood (son Harry Northwood was a glass maker in America). The body is an oval pill-shaped translucent light turquoise glass with an open oval top that is bordered with a scalloped ribbon crest. At each narrow end is a small applique of amber glass. Beautiful set of jeweled glass finger-bowl and under-plate, made most likely by Moser. The bowl is 5 1/4 inches (13,5 cm) wide and 2 1/4 inches (6 cm) high. The under-plate is 5 3/4 inches (14 cm) wide and 3/4 inches (2 cm) high. Both are in fine condition (some expected usage scratches on under-plate). Unsigned, as expected.

Art Noveau red cameo glass stick vase by French designer Emile Galle. The color is an unusual off white with a red overlay. It is a wonderful feeling hold and study a vase made by such a great and innovative designer. In excellent antique condition, it measures 5.5 inches high and approximately 4" in diameter at widest.

A lovely teal green blow glass hyacinth or bulb vase in the classic cone shape. The flared rim was intended to hold a hyacinth or other bulb just above the water line to root. Forcing bulbs was a popular Victorian pursuit and hyacinth vases were lovely adornments for kitchen and conservatory windows. The teal green is an unusual shade. The bottom has a sheared pontil.

This elegant green shell bowl with a swan on the scalloped rim, attr Salviati early 1900s, is an excellent example of the masterful craftsmanship of the Murano glass artisans.
