Very unusual Victorian sterling silver grapefruit spoon with a wonderful plique-a-jour enamel assymetrical handle decorated in six shades of translucent enamel. It is quite unusual for plique-a-jour enamel to have been used on a grapefruit spoon, as it was so fragile that it was usually reserved for more delicate pieces like demitasse spoons. The back is marked with Imperial Austrian marks in use 1866-1922.

Leaf-wrapped and mounted scroll bracket side handles with cast leaf-and-berry ornament. Bowl rim has dense flower rondel border. Lovely sterling silver berry spoon in Towle's 1894 "Princess" pattern. The handle is heavily decorated with various floral motifs. The matte-gilt bowl is decorated with floral bright-cut engraving. The reverse is marked with Towle's old hallmark and the design patent date.

An antique Unger Bros sterling silver stamp safe or case circa 1890. This scarce late Victorian era 1-7/8" x 1-3/8" American sterling silver stamp safe has a lovely floral repouse design. This pocket stamp carrier is similar to a match safe in appearance, but smaller and without the striker edge. It has two circular cutouts on the upper edge for grasping the stamps. This spoon has a 1-1/4" x 7/8" acanthus leaf bowl, a twisted tendril design stem, and it is stamped STERLING with an obscured maker's mark, and it is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document. It weighs 41.6 grams...
