A nicely detailed pierced Rococo Revival boat with exceptionally detailed swags, flowers, and cross hatching for a formal setting. The shape mimics a boat and may have once had a liner. Condition is very good with no material defects. Underside is marked Depose 800, which in normal circumstances might be French, but we believe that the crown and possibly crescent to its left indicates a German article, dating c. 1890-1910...

A rare, circa 1875, Sheffield silver asparagus dish with hot water warmer by Elkington & Co. An elegant dish perfectly designed to compliment any silver pattern, it is in excellent condition with no loss to the silver. Fully hallmarked on the bottom, this asparagus dish measures about 9.25" long (with handles 12" long), 6.25" wide, and 3.5 " high (with finial 5" high).

Delightful Victorian sterling silver rattle. Made by WH Collins & Co. in Birmingham in 1897. Kitty stands stiffly in snug fitting jacket and trousers. Only the tail is free to flick back and forth. A funny depiction of feline ill grace. A bit of a sour puss, but endearing nonetheless. Mother of pearl handle. Fully marked. Good condition.

Victorian Classical sterling silver mustard pot. Made by Charles Thomas Fox & George Fox in London in 1858. Drum-form with straight and inset sides, and open bottom. Cover flat and hinged, and scroll-bracket handle with scallop shell thumb rest. Engraved ornament: On sides, leafing scrollwork, flowers, and eagles, and on cover top round frame (vacant) surrounded by leafing scrollwork. With cobalt glass liner. Fully marked. Lovely sterling silver sugar tongs in an elegant pattern that seems more Georgian than Victorian. The tongs are of the finest quality and are large enough to be used as bonbon or ice tongs, as well as for sugar. The end has an attractive period “E” monogram. The inside is fully hallmarked for London, 1845-46, and also has the Victoria duty mark. The maker’s mark is “SH/DC”.

Pair of Edwardian Classical sterling silver candlesticks. Made by Barbour Silver Co. (part of International) in Hartford, ca 1910. Each: Tapering socket with flat and detachable bobeche; raised foot. A matching pair of American coin silver 3-3/4" master salt spoons, made and stamped with the Albert Coles hallmarks (in business 1835-75). The marks are slightly worn, but still clearly visible (more so than our picture). This wildly over-the-top Egyptian Revival inkwell has the goddess Hathor as the center piece. She was the goddess of dance, music, and fertility (how cool is that!). She is wearing big earrings, and her usual headdress. She seems to have a flower in her hair, and in front of her there is foliage tied by a ribbon with a bow (we can’t tell if it’s laurel or mistletoe)...

A Sizeable Sterling Silver Fish Knife and Fork by Bigelow Brothers and Kennard, Boston Silversmith and Retailer. This mark was used from 1845-1863, but the firm existed in one form or another from 1830-1922. The pieces are marked 925, rather than sterling, as this time was the transition between the usage of coin and sterling, without the term sterling being initially used. The pieces are bright cut and engraved, with the knife having a picture or a fish (see photo)...

Late 19th C sterling silver Art Nouveau floral match safe Vesta with two lizards embossed on each side of the lid. There is a very tiny crack at the top backside near the hinge. It does not compromise integrity of this piece. Marked STERLING inside lip. Measures 2.75" x 1.5"
