Extraordinary late 18th century German silver sugar scissors in the form of a circus monkey. The monkey is wearing a harlequin suit and a bonnet and is grasping two rings that, upon closer inspection, are serpents. Monkeys were very popular exotic animals and inspired wondeful tableware including Meissen figurines and assorted silver. Often they were shown wearing human clothing and performing human tasks...

A late 19th or early 20th century sterling silver sauce ladle with a round bowl, marked on the back of the handle, “STERLING, J.E. CALDWELL & (the rest of the punch missing) PATENT.” The front of the handle decorated with a long tailed bird (Jay?) in foliage. On the back is more foliage, the marks, and the engraved initial “F.” Approx. 7 inches long. Approx. 60 grams. Condition: Some wear. Decoration still crisp. J.E. Caldwell were a major Philadelphia maker and retailer.

Exceptional Gorham "Athenic" copper vase or urn caged in pierced sterling silver. The Athenic line was designed as an Art Line to compliment Martele. This vase has a wonderful aged copper patina with hints of red, brown, and black. It measures 3 3/4" tall, 3 7/8" wide at top, and 2 3/8" at base. The interior is lightly gilded. The base is sterling and well marked--"Athenic", a lion, an anchor, a "G", "Sterling", and BY 173. Weighs 7.5 ounces. Circa 1900. Excellent condition.

This vanity or dresser set matches, it has the Howard marks, STERLING, 925/1000 and a patent date of 1892 (PAT. '92.)...

A Burgundian first standard (950/1000 pure silver) tastevin by acclaimed silversmith Marc Parrod. The style of this particular example is a bit of a departure from Parrod’s typical style. A nice sterling silver long pickle/olive fork in the "Nautilus" pattern by Blackinton. The handle is ornately decorated with floral and shell motifs. The tines are parcel matte gilt and have foliate decoration at the shoulders to match the handle. The handle is monogrammed "L" on the front and has the date "[18]98" on the back.
