From our European Collection, a very fine and large Victorian silver tea tray by W.W. Harrison (Sheffield) 1883. The tray is of oval shape with beaded borders and handles of acanthus leaf motifs...

A large repousse decorated sterling presentation trophy goblet - London, 1866, by Henry Holland and Company. Size: 9 7/8 inches ht. Weight: 15.5 Troy ozs. The inscription reads: Presented by the Trustees of the Pontypool Park Estate for Competition by No. 1 (or Pontypool) Company of the 2nd Monmouth Rifle Volunteer Corps. 1866. The winner's name is etched into a cartouche on the reverse side - Sgt. Robert W. Wallace, 2nd Monmouths. Excellent condition.

This is an UNGER BROTHERS STERLING CLOTHES BRUSH circa 1900. Multiple FLOWERS adorn the Top of the Brush and there is a Panel with the monogram in script: WWM. Marked on the side: (UB logo) STERLING 925 FINE (logo). This ANTIQUE UNGER BRUSH Measures 1/2" X 6". Overall Condition is Very Good+. ADD TO THE UNGER COLLECTION.

Modern sterling silver baby cup. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1928. Curved bowl with flared mouth rim, high-looping handle, and foot ring; reeded band. Plenty of room for engraving. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 21213 (first produced in 1928), and director’s letter m. Very good condition.

German Rococo 800 silver snuffbox, ca 1910. Oval with hinged cover; on top is chased scene depicting a large bird confronting two cherubs with soft chubby bodies and ethereal wings. Probably an allusion to some or other episode in Classical mythology, but can be enjoyed without esoteric literary knowledge. Hanau maker’s mark (Wolf & Knell). Very good condition with deep patina.

Russian 875 silver ladle, ca 1880. Oval bowl and fiddle terminal with engraved initials and year 1881. A nice serving piece from the twilight of tsarist Russia. Marks include maker’s (PA) stamp and Moscow assayer’s (Aleksandr Nicolayevich Krollau) stamp dated 1880. Very good condition with nice patina.

American Art Nouveau inkwell with engraved silver overlay, ca 1886. Bellied and faceted; short neck in silver collar and hinged and faceted silver cover. Overlay in form of dense and connected leafing and flowering branches. Glass is clear. Marked “Sterling Silver” and patent date “Jan. 5 86”. Very good condition.

Deeply chased scroll work...

A nice coin silver rattail spoon by John Brown, active in Baltimore from 1799, after apprenticing in Philadelphia. The bowl is rather narrow, suggesting it was to be used as a pap spoon. The spoon must have been an early piece from Brown's shop, as the design is quite clearly drawn from late 18th century styles. The three-letter monogram in a bright-cut cartouche is also characteristic of the period. The back is marked with Brown's punch.

A Sterling Silver Sugar Pot or Bowl by Paul Storr. Hallmarked for London, 1832 and Additionally Stamped "Storr and Mortimer" (used 1822-1839). Dimensions; 3.5" high x 7.5" to handles; weight, 17.3 Troy ounces. Gilt interior. Excellent condition.

A very pretty early 20th century French silver tastevin in the style typical of Dijon in the Burgundy region of France. This style retains the usual convex base surrounded by a wreath of “perles”, but the gadrooning (“godrons”) along the side have been replaced with a decoration of very finely worked grape leaves and clusters of fruit. The handle, also in typical Burgundian style, represents two snakes with the heads of ducks grasping the forbidden apple between their beaks...

A Superb Pair of Sterling Silver Candlesticks by Jenkins & Jenkins of Baltimore, in business from 1908-1915 and successors to Jacoby and Jenkins (1894-1908). Dimensions; 6.25" high x 3.5" at the base. Unweighted (total weight is 11 Troy ounces) and in excellent condition.

George V sterling silver vase. Made by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd in London in 1911. Tapering and girdled tube on stepped foot. Flared and castellated rim with applied molding and ornament. Rare mixed metal pitcher with lots of bugs. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1880. Globular with drum-form neck, small lip spout, and c-scroll handle. Modish insects—dragon fly, grasshopper, and butterfly—creep and dart among fluid and interlaced grass stalks applied to hand-hammered sterling silver ground heightened with floral engraving and copper inlay. A superb integration of Japonesque and Craftsman. Interlaced script monogram engraved to underside...

Georgian silver Teapot Stand, Hallmarked in London in 1801, with the makers mark "WB" for William Baley. In a bright cut oval form. Dimension; 7" x 5.5" x 7/8" high; weight 4 ounces. Excellent condition.

Fairfax sterling silver coffee and tea set on tray. Made by Durham, which was part of Gorham, in Concord, ca 1926. This set comprises 7 pieces: Hot water kettle on stand, coffeepot, teapot, creamer, sugar, and waste bowl on tray.

Each: Chamfered. Rectilinear and tapering body on same foot. Handles scroll bracket. Covers gently raised with soft faceting (pot covers hinged). Finials chamfered with bead. Spouts faceted except for creamer, which has u-form spout...
