A fine first-standard (950/1000 pure) silver tastevin, the bottom inset with a silver 5-franc coin from the reign of Louis Philippe. The coin has good detail, the front showing a bust of the king in profile, while the bottom shows a laurel wreath enclosing the words “5 Francs/1846”. The coin is surrounded by repousse decoration of angled godrons, small convex perles and larger concave cupules...

Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau glass vase with engraved silver overlay. Made by Alvin in Providence. Conical mouth and neck and bellied bowl. Star cut to underside. Dense overlay in form of overlapping and entwined flowers, leaves, and scrollwork. Scrolled cartouche engraved with two-letter script monogram (SS). Glass is green. Silver marked including maker’s stamp and no. G3349. Very good condition.

This wonderfully decorative Victorian sterling silver fork by Frank M. Whiting Co. was used to serve pastry at the time but would enhance any table setting today. It is reticulated with a scroll foliage design in repousse, tongs are splayed, monogram KC in script, marked Sterling, Frank M. Whiting maker's mark, 14 Pat. Mar 7, 98, measures 7 1/4 in. Excellent condition.

Victorian sterling silver bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Curved sides with repousse fern and flower pattern. Cast interior rim comprising alternating ferns and flower heads. Four leafing scroll-mounted paw supports. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 9447 (first produced in 1887), director’s letter M (1873-91), and volume (6 1/2 pts). Very good condition.

This elegant brush has repousse decorations depicting Art Nouveau lilies on the top, and fancy swirls on the handle. It measures 5-3/4” x 3". It is stamped Sterling, and there are other, illegible, marks. There is a little bit of damage to the silver at the top of the brush, which is exaggerated by the photos. The handle has an undecorated area on each side, ready to be monogrammed, should you want one. On one side this area has some small dings to it...

Horned serpents swim slack-jawed through the water. Talons and heads “puncture” the surface to form side handles. Astride one sits an artist, brush in hand recording the thrashing undulations and roiling waves. At mouth rim are applied strewn shells...

Pretty Edwardian inkwell. Made by Foster & Bailey in Providence, ca 1910. Rectangular clear glass base with chamfered corners, wraparound acid-etched garland, and star cut to underside. Ovalish well with short neck in sterling silver collar with hinged and domed cover. Cover top has enameled flower basket and garland on white wavy and chevron ground with ornamental blue lunettes. Fully marked. Very good condition with strong color.

American brilliant-cut glass and sterling silver decanter. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1894. Round body with thumb ring handle. Cut ornament in arched frames. Collar silver as is hinged and cork-lined cover with floral repousse. On cover is engraved block monogram and dates “1870 W. G. C. 1895”. Fully marked including no. S1744 and date symbol. Very good condition.

With a clear glass liner, not original. Excellent condition.

A small and decorative handled silverplated candy or serving dish with a pressed glass bowl and a turned wood painted handle c1890. This dish stands 6" high and 5-1/4" long; it is 4-1/2" wide. It is of high quality, with conical feet, a threaded bolt securing the handle and nuts securing the base to the diamond shaped silverplated handle. This dish is unmarked but probably English, and the original fitted pressed glass bowl has a crisp and pleasant pattern...

This silver is ornately decorated wthroses, forget-me-nots, wild roses, chamomiles and daises against a stippled background. Bucher was a retailer who stamped wares with his own mark, even though they were actually made by Jenkins, Armiger, Schofield or other leading Baltimore silversmiths of the day...
