An exceptional sterling silver hand wrought cigar lighter from Shreve & Co. San Francisco. Heavy globe in organic silver base. Measures about 4 1/2" tall, 2 7/8" across and weighs about 415 grams. Shows a little wear and a couple of dings. Globe has silver mark differing from the Shreve signature on base. Finely hand hammered base possibly a custom piece. Great, rare example.

An ornate, finely decorated rectangular galley drinks tray c1910. This 11-1/8 x 8" tray has a pierced gallery and it is of heavy and solid construction (it weighs 640 grams). It is silver plated on copper and it has the maker's mark for Charles Howard Collins of Birmingham, England (founded c1895)...

Pair of Chinese export silver vases, ca 1910. Each: Flat and round moon body on domed foot; animal-head handles mounted to shoulder. On front and back is chased dragon—a horned and taloned serpentine serpent on hand-hammered ground. Marked Wang Hing & Co., an early 20th-century retailer active in Canton and Hong Kong. Very good condition. Handwork visible on foot underside.

A gorgeous sterling silver cream ladle rare on two counts. First, Fessenden’s 1910 “Tulip” pattern is very uncommon. Secondly, while spoons were often engraved as souvenir pieces, serving pieces were hardly ever given this treatment. This is the only souvenir cream ladle we’ve seen. The matte gilt bowl is engraved with a very detailed representation of the U.S. Capitol Building underscored by “Washington DC”. The back is hallmarked by Fessenden & Co.

Two rattan handled and lidded water jugs in late Jugendstil, two of a kind. One designed by Richard Riemerschmied for the company of F & R Fischer c 1915, the other and smaller by Webster & Son, New York c 1920. Rectilinear frames with etched scenes of girl kneeling in prayer, feasting from a fruit platter, and seated at table with steaming pot and bowl of porridge. With text propounding dubious causality: “Every night / my prayers I say, / And get my dinner / every day;” and “And every day / that I’ve been good, / I get an orange / after food”...

German 800 silver cow creamer, ca 1910. Stocky body, flexed ears, flicked-back tail handle, and hinged and stippled back flap with engraved wreath and applied fly finial. A gentle face with red-glass eyes and gaping-mouth spout. A capacious dispenser on four firmly planted hoofs. German marks and American importer’s mark for Buchholz & Zelt in New York. Fabulous silver plate tray, heavily decorated and dripping in grapes. It is footed and has lovely handles which, along with the whole border are covered in grapes and leaves. This tray is about as fancy as you'll find and is in lovely condition. It measures 27 1/2" long x 18 1/2" wide, and hallmarked on the back (see photo).

A large and elegant European silver goblet of modern design by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund (Germany), established in 1869. This goblet apparently dates c1900-10. It measures 8-3/4" (24cm) in height, and measures 4-1/4" (just under 11 cm) across the rim. It weighs approximately 227 grams. It is stamped with the German post-1886 crescent moon and crown mark, 835 WTB and has a company number of 73123 and a small punch mark we could not make out. A wonderful sterling silver soup ladle in Reed & Barton’s famous 1907 “Francis I” pattern. This is one of the most desirable late Victorian American flatware designs. This ladle is from the original series and is hallmarked with Reed & Barton’s old hallmark and the design patent date.
