Each: Handle has dense and dynamic ornament including scrolls, tendrils, and beading with fan terminal. Back plain. Oval bowl with double-sided gilding. Fully marked. Elegant sterling silver footed basket with flaring, reticulated sides and a hoop handle. The swirling pattern of the piercing echoes the basket's scalloped rim. The top of the handle has a reserve for a monogram, but was never monogramed. The bottom has Durgin's early hallmark and the retailer's mark "Hodson, Kennard & Co." Many of Durgin's earlier products were sold through such upscale Boston retailers.

An elegant antique hand chased sterling silver pen tray, having a rectangular body with rounded ends, a fluted border. and a vacant central oval cartouche. Made in London it is hallmarked and dates 1896. This fine tray measures 7.5 inches long.

A Gorham Art Nouveau sterling silver swing-handle basket circa 1900. This lovely American basket measures 6-3/8" x 4-7/8" across the basket and it stands 7-1/2" to the top of the handle. It has a sinuous Art Nouveau floral design and it is stamped STERLING GORHAM MFG CO 1984/6 on the bottom. It weighs 181 grams (5.8 ounces) and it in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small split on one of the cutouts (see image)...

Also marked with an "A" under a crown, a Hanau pseudo-mark linked to Georg Roth & Co. MEASUREMENTS: 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" high. Approximately 4.87 troy ounces total. Fabulous figural silverplated shellfish server. Of the highest quality, this piece is formed as two mussel shells flanking an oyster shell, with a double strap handle reminiscent of seaweed. The bottom is marked with a "N & W" hallmark, along with the pattern number "424" and the registry number "333221" indicating a date of 1899.

Lovely round tray with raised grapes surrounding the edges and on the handles. It has a 15" diameter and is in excellent condition. It is marked on the bottom with hallmarks, the name Crescent, and the number 1097.

This antique serving spoon from the Georgian era has a berry motif in the gold-washed interior of the bowl (the wash is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks, it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g. So beautiful! Very rare sterling silver oyster ladle in Whiting's classic 1880 "Bead" pattern. The simplicity of the handle decoration is relieved by the ruffled edge of the bowl. It's simplicity enables the pattern to work with a wide range of other American Colonial-inspired patterns. The oyster ladle form is quite rare, as only the most complete silver services ever had such serving pieces. Hallmarked with Whiting's early hallmark and "Pat Appd For" (indicating an early date).

A Gorham Sterling Silver Berry or Serving Spoon in the "Raphael" pattern, patented 1874 and dated from shortly after. It is 8" in length with an oval bowl of 3.5" x 2.5". There is an elaborate monogram on the handle, matching item #534 (see picture) and the condition is excellent.

A large and elegant European silver goblet of modern design by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund (Germany), established in 1869. This goblet apparently dates c1900-10. It measures 8-3/4" (24cm) in height, and measures 4-1/4" (just under 11 cm) across the rim. It weighs approximately 227 grams. It is stamped with the German post-1886 crescent moon and crown mark, 835 WTB and has a company number of 73123 and a small punch mark we could not make out...

A lovely pair of imperial Russian spoons, the backs of the bowls decorated with finely engraved scenes depicting portions of the Arsenal and the State Historical Museum on Moscow’s Red Square. The handles are finished in the traditional twist motif. The surfaces are gilt, and the engraving is worked through the gilding in some areas and more lightly in others, allowing a nice contrast of colors within the design...

Very nice set of 11 sterling silver cocktail or seafood forks in Gorham’s 1899 “Cambridge” pattern. This was one of Gorham’s most popular late Victorian patterns. The handles are encrusted in a decoration of wild roses with gadrooned edges. The backs are marked with an older Gorham hallmark and the patent date, indicating that these are early.

Very fine ornate sterling silver server for either fish or ice cream. The handle is covered with a pattern of hibiscus flowers and swirling foliage. The floral element is echoed in the beautifully engraved floral pattern on the blade. The blade is finished off with a very ornate outline. Many American silversmiths did not mark their names until the early 20th century, and the back is marked only "Sterling."

Elegant Edwardian cranberry glass vase with pierced sterling silver mounts by Galt & Bro. The piercings are fan-shaped and the rim has a bound reed motif. The cranberry glass insert flares slightly toward the upper rim and is accented with simple cutting. The base is marked "Galt & Bro." (Washington, DC, 1892-1934).

A sterling silver cherubs brush mirror & comb set 1890 to 1900. This wonderfully ornate Victorian period set consists of the 10" x 3-7/8" mirror, the 9-3/8" x 2-1/2" brush with natural bristles, and the 7-5/8" long comb. Each is hallmarked for Birmingham, England and they have the Thomas Hayes maker's mark; the brush year hallmark is 1890, the comb year hallmark is 1898 and the mirror year hallmark is 1900. It is quite normal for these sets to have slightly differing dates on the various pie...

Extraordinary late 18th century German silver sugar scissors in the form of a circus monkey. The monkey is wearing a harlequin suit and a bonnet and is grasping two rings that, upon closer inspection, are serpents. Monkeys were very popular exotic animals and inspired wondeful tableware including Meissen figurines and assorted silver. Often they were shown wearing human clothing and performing human tasks. The tongs are fully marked with late 18th century German hallmarks.
