Ornamental sterling silver letter opener. Made by Georg Jensen in Denmark, ca 1925. Looped tendril handle with seed and leaf terminal. A rare box fully inscribed with fine caligraphy from the Coran and still with remnants of the original 300-400 years old content inside. The box has a lid and the hinges and lock are in intact workable condition. Silver is testing more than .800, though there's no silver marks.
Size: 56-57 mm. in diameter and c 25 mm. tall.

This tureen holds 4 quarts of liquid. It was made by the Meridan Britannia Company in 1886-1887.
All of the plating is still original. There is however, a few spots where, as shown in my picture, there is some loss of silver. A magnificent addition to any silver collection. The collar is 7/8" in diameter and is wonderfully chased.

Outstanding sterling silver master salt spoon in a rococo pattern by Gorham. I have not been able to put a name to this assymetrical pattern, although it is very similar to "Marie Antoinette" and "Dresden". The bowl is parcel gilt. The reverse is marked with Gorham's old hallmark.
Origin: America, circa 1885. Condition: excellent, gilding intact, crisp details, period mongram "Y". Size: 3-5/8" long.
