Probably, our finest and surely the heaviest silver icon, we've had for a while! Russian Orthodox icon with an amazing wrought and chisseled Oklad, dating 1871.

This is NOT the usual foliage thin silver sheet oklad but a a heavy thick hammered and chisseled silver oklad in a baroque style with relief heads in each corner and weighing several 100s of grams in .84 silver. Fine gilt to the details. The icon itself with four saints and Christ with halo in the sky...
Icon with St. Barlaam of Khutyn, finely decorated in a silver foliage Ritza.

Oklad hallmarked with the 84, city arms of Saint Petersburg, Cyrillic makers mark A.G.

Height: 32 cm, width: 27 cm.

Condition: Choice VF, with a finely painted Icon underneath the Ritza, lioght wear and tear to the silver but in a fine collectable condition.

This Avante garde porcelain platter is attributed to Martin Fritzsche. It is similar to works in the Broham Museum in Berlin. The platter is 17” long, 13 3/4” wide 2 3/4 inches high. It has a Seger mark under glaze, the model number 5894 incised in the porcelain and worn, unintelligible painted letters.
