Five French majolica plates from H. Boulenger & Cie in Choisy-le-Roi, 1880’s. Aesthetic Japanesque compositions and molded design in contrasting colors, ochre and turquoise with crackle glaze effects. The motifs are nightly poetic: a boy gazing at the moon (twice, in reverse coloring), a night wanderer with a lantern, the Man in the Moon fishing and an earthly fisherman just catching a fish. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Spode around 1800. It has a specious Sevres marking over the glaze. The handle is found in Berthoud’s Compendium of Cups. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/8 inches and it is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with an opening of 3 1/8 inches in diameter. The pattern is quite colorful with panels of hand painted flowers and panels of geometric designs. The gilding is elaborate. Condition: Excellent

Austrian Rococo silver candle snuffer, 1827. Hinged with flower-head mount and flat vertical blade that fits into rectangular box with curved and lobed top. Ring handles on s-scroll mounts. Outstanding Victorian silverplate napkin ring decorated in the Aesthetic or Japonesque taste. The surface is encrusted with decoration representing flying cranes, crysanthemums, fans, and bamboo. The plain surface of the fan was intended for a monogram, but the napkin ring was never engraved.

A Cellini Craft Arts & Crafts sterling ladle. This finely crafted Georg Jensen style sterling gravy ladle was made by the American Cellini Craft company of Chicago in the 1930s. This 6-1/4" ladle has a 2-1/4" wide bowl and a hand hammered finish on all surfaces; it has a looping arch of silver with nodes terminating in a ball which stands proud of the handle and is reminiscent of the Georg Jensen style...

Origin: England, last quarter 19th century. Condition: Mint, except for 3/8" flake on the bottom of the foot rim (not visible from the top or side); appropriate glaze crazing for the age. Size: 4-1/4" tall.

This sweet little brown and red doll quilt is in exellent condition with just a little fraying on one edge...see close up. I like to see signs of age like this because it shows it really old. When fabric has been folded and washed and ironed the folds start breaking down the fabric, sometimes aging is a good thing. The quilt is 6" square and is backed with a double pink calico.

A spectacular and beautiful circa 1730 English silk embroidered apron front, exquisitely embroidered in polychrome silk and metallic threads with garlands and sprays of flowers urns. Scalloped edges are finished with embroidered metallic trim. A somewhat later but very similar example is shown in The Lotus Collection.

There are some scattered unimportant splits and very very minor and small spots of discoloration, all to be expected in such a delicate piece...
