Pair of wonderful cotton knit striped socks the heal hand worked. The colors and mustard yellow, blue and white stripes. Some of the hand sewing in the heal is lose or is partly out. No holes and I doubt they have been worn much at all. 28" long and circa 1880

A wonderful early woman's pocket made from a roller print with the colors of madder, brown and mustard. It is backed with a homespun linen fabric. All hand sewn. The front of the pocket is lined with the same linen homespun and the back. The fabric is fragile in some of the black areas where the tannic acid dye has weakened fabric. It is priced accordingly and is by no means falling apart. It is 13 1/2" top to bottom and is 5 " across the to and 9" across the bottom...

Unusual antique French Limoges gold trimmed porcelain oyster plate depicting different sea grasses. In excellent condition, it measures 9.5" diameter.

NOTE: A very interesting technique was used to create the effect of underwater movement. They 1st printed the image in light green, then printed the same image in dark pink over it, but slightly offset. Where the images overlapped, it created a 3rd color, brown, which establishes the main part of the plant.

I love that she has big hands formed as a fist with fingers and thumb. Her shoes are also big and sturdy also. The carving is bold and yet touching. This is a very large, very seldom seen, antique, Buddhist Temple Mokugyo. A Mokugyo is a wooden percussion instruments that is used by monks at Buddhist Temples (in Japan, China and Korea) during Buddhist ceremonies that involve the recitation of sutras or mantras to maintain rhythm during chanting. It is made from mostly KUSU (Camphor) wood. For large temple Mokugyos such as this one, the wood must be at least 100-years old...

A large ceramic charger with a yellow and black rim enclosing an elaborate scene depicting a version of, “The Toilet of Venus.” Participants include a partially clad Venus, plenty of putti, satyrs, a couple of unclad men and a pair of panthers.
